You absolutely must make this restaurant a stop when in the area. Just a few miles south of Puerto Vallarta, a quick Uber ride to the perfect location on the Playa Palmares beach, white sand and great waves. This is our forth or fifth lunch here, the service is always consistent and entertaining. Milton the manager was helpful translating the gluten free requirements of my in-laws. You must start with the Cadillac margarita with a side shot of grand mariner. Be careful only one will make you feel great. All tables are outside and a few steps above the sandy white beach. Love sitting at the bar and looking to the sunset. I am vegetarian and there are plenty of delicious options. This visit I enjoyed the veggie burrito, fresh sautéed veggies with melted local cheese and a side of fried beans with a spicy sauce and fresh tomato salsa for topping. Tom enjoyed the tempura fried fish, 3 good size tacos with fresh local fish, fried and served in a corn tortilla. My mother in law loved the gluten free chicken empanada and a skinny margarita. Father in law ordered and enjoyed the mixed tacos, shrimp, beef and chicken all gluten free. Great environment, wonderful attentive staff and delicious food, a must do lunch. Like this review if helpful. Enjoy great food in out of the way...

We visited this place for drinks. First, we had to pay 200 pesos for each lounge chair (very uncomfortable) overlooking the very rock surface of the beach. No doubt, the view is beautiful. The sounds of waves over the rocks is amazing. Our waiter (I will not use his name) brought us the menu. We ordered Bloody Mary for listed price of 135 Pesos each. When he delivered he gave us our drinks in a large margarita glass and he said that he made the drink bigger for us for 30 pesos each (we were not given this option and not approved by us). We were not told in what size of glass our drink will originally come in. Anyhow, we accepted it and thought that the drink will now cost 165 pesos each. When we were leaving, he said the drinks are being charged (verbally and not written bill) for 180 pesos each and tip on top of that. We felt that the waiter was price gouging. We didn't make a fuss, but left. Credit card/debit card was not accepted, only cash settlement. I will NOT recommend this place to first...

Eduardo!!!!!! Wow just simply amazing! Eduardo our server welcomed us into Canto Palmeras & from the start this place is first class! Eduardo educated us on some new facts in tequila & I was a bartender & consumer for 15+ years so it was refreshing to learn something new. Get ready because The food here will knock your socks off! I recommend the oysters that are brought in fresh to your table by a local oyster fisherman. You pay him separately from your restaurant tab and tip him well because they’re the best oysters you’ll ever have in your life. I recommend everything honestly, however, we had the lobster enchiladas, shrimp cocktail, Agua, chiles and. sashimi. The staff is super welcoming & friendly & it’s hard to beat the environment anywhere else in puerto Vallarta. We came for the beach & we stayed for the restaurant & never made it to the beautiful beach. However when you use the restroom here you feel that intimate connection with the beach. You’ll know what I mean soon....

I was hesitant to go here after reading some of the reviews, but the staff was friendly and attentive (I understand this can't always be consistent). The drinks were great and the views were stunning. The food was fresh and delicious (I eat a lot of seafood). We had the seafood salad, the fish tacos, and the rollitos placeres. The latter of which really stole the show. One of my friends doesn't eat seafood and even she liked her fish tacos and loved the rollitos! This was a really great gem now far from where we're staying. We were the last customers and asked if someone could call a cab for us, and instead one of the servers (or maybe the manager) brought us home. I'd definitely go back!

Our 1st time here based on Google reviews, and we’re not disappointed! Quite the opposite, so glad we came here. Too bad we dug into our red snapper before I thought to take a picture of it, but oh boy, was it yummy delicious 😋 and a huge portion, my husband and I got thoroughly stuffed, but couldn’t stop eating LOL We also had tostadas as an appetizer, marlin and octopus, those got devoured right away, no chance for pictures! The red snapper was 385 pesos, totally worth it for a two ppl meal, and tostadas are inexpensive. All in all, the best place so far.
