El Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, se encuentra en la zona de Ciudad Universitaria conocida como Centro Cultural Universitario en esta zona encuentras la Sala de conciertos Netzahualcóyotl, La Covarrubias, otras salas, teatros, cines, restaurantes, una librería y el Muac que es como se conoce el Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo. El Muac es un museo que ofrece exposiciones interesantes. Algunas pueden gustarte más que otras pero por un costo de entrada muy bajo este museo le ofrece al visitante exposiciones de artistas reconocidos internacionalmente. En el mes de septiembre visite el museo con el deseo de ver la exposición de Jan Hendrix "Tierra Firme" y Ai Weiwei "Restablecer memorias" el segundo es un artista chino mundialmente famoso y el primero un artista nacido en los países bajos pero que vive en México desde su juventud (1977). La exposición del artista asiático es buena y además tiene el componente de ser de denuncia; en particular dos eventos la desaparición de los 43 jóvenes normalistas de Ayotzinapa y la de una aldea en China por de la modernización del país asiático. Esta es una exposición bien montada que logra su objetivo. Me parece una buena expo. La de Jan Hendrix me pareció una maravilla desde el montaje, las diferentes técnicas del autor, la curaduría de la expo que incluye la reproducción del estudio del artista. La expo de Hendrix está muy relacionada con la Naturaleza y el trabajo de este artista nos recuerda a los naturalistas del siglo XIX y al mismo tiempo es el trabajo de un amante de la Naturaleza que utiliza técnicas mixtas entre clásicas y modernas. Está expo ya la quitaron me parece que fue un gran acierto del museo mostrar este trabajo de Jan Hendrix pues creo que en estos tiempos es muy necesario el reencuentro con la Naturaleza que nos da tanto. El trabajo de Hendrix te fascina y conmueve por la forma en que te muestra la belleza de la Naturaleza. Les recomiendo que estén pendientes de la programación de este museo pues siempre tiene algo que ofrecer. El museo cuenta con una tienda interesante en la que venden cosas de diseñadores mexicanos, libros de arte, joyería, etcétera. También con un restaurante. Estacionamiento subterráneo, elevador y acceso para silla de ruedas.

Hoy fui a este espacio cultural con opciones para todo el público. Este fin semana se celebra el día del libro y la rosa. Creo que Todo el Centro Cultural Universitario dedico el fin de semana a celebrar los libro con presentaciones, firma y venta de libros. Es una buena opción visitar el Muac y su entorno. The museum is great overall but this last visit was kind of disappointing. Great pieces and exhibits from really good artists most of the time but I went specifically for the Ai Wei Wei exhibit and, honestly, it was a joke.

Ai Wei Wei created this awesome documentary piece on the disappearance of the 43 students from Ayotzinapa but the space given to it was too big, it certainly would have benefitted from a smaller room. They also brought some earlier pieces from the artist, but they're haphazardly thrown in the room (really, most of them were all just thrown on a table in the corner of the room and some were on the floor BEHIND the table) and provide no extra value to the exhibit that I would have done without them.
