Plaza Morelos is a beautiful national park and monument of Morelia. locals and tourist love visiting here because it's always in the middle of the city and great place just to walk around, and enjoy with friends or just to walk the dog. There are well taken care of gardens to enjoy and plenty of space. The colonial architecture of the buildings, structures, and art are simply breathtaking. Its like you are taking a walk through history.
This park is one of the main attractions of Morelia and the park tells you the history of the Mexican hero Morelos in which the city is named after.
There are restaurants close by and even though there are no public bathrooms nearby you can just ask buy a drink from one of the restaurants and they will allow you to use their bathroom.
You can easily walk to plaza Morelos from the main cathedral downtown in about 20 mins.
All ages will enjoy this park and there are usually people sharing their talents or other attractions available to watch or part take in as well.

El monumento ecuestre dedicado a José María Morelos y Pavón fue elaborado con la intención de inaugurarse en 1910 en el marco de las celebraciones del Centenario de la Independencia, el pedestal de cantera se comenzó a edificar en 1909 por Albino Cottini. La escultura ecuestre en bronce fue elaborada en Roma por el escultor italiano José Inghillieri, siendo inaugurado el monumento hasta 1913 como lo indica la inscripción en su base (ya que en 1910 había estallado la Guerra de la Revolución Mexicana). Recientemente la plaza fue restaurada, entre los trabajos realizados se restituyó parte del pavimento de cantera, se adecuaron las jardineras y se les coloco el barandal de herrería que las delimita.
