Coco's Animal Welfare Clinic — Attraction in Playa del Carmen

I am so disturbed and upset by the butcher job that was done on my cat here. I came because of many recommendations but I will NEVER come back here and make sure to tell everyone my experience with this horror. Upon dropping her off to be spayed, they tried to convince me for 15 minutes to get her ear clipped. I clearly said NO and marked this on the form that they gave me. When I picked her up, she looked horrible and traumatized. They didn’t have the towel in the cat carrier I brought and had her sitting covered in her own urine WITH HER EAR CLIPPED! Seems like this place has their own agenda, just do whatever they feel like with no regard for the owner’s opinion. I am so disgusted by this place, how they handled the situation, and the condition of my poor cat. Come here if you want a black market...

Beware. They clipped my kitten’s ear without permission, I think there is some kind of scheme where they are paid for neutering strays - so they show proof of this by clipping the ear without consent for them to get extra money. They also try to charge an extra fee for the medication which is needed for aftercare of the surgery. My kitten is traumatised after the visit here and isn’t the same anymore, she is less trusting and more agitated in general, also panics when entering her cage or a vehicle now so I’m not sure if they also mistreated her in their care. This is a great organization that helped me get a cat that lives at a hotel spayed, vaccinated and Frontline for a very affordable cost. They also run a program called “Cat Café” that works with hotels to creat a food & water station at hotels for the cats that live on-property and it is illegal to remove them from the hotels. Please ask your hotel to join the “Cat Café” program. I also encountered a large number of locals bringing their pets (all different varieties) for regular care at an affordable cost.
