Mosquitoes: the place is infested with mosquitoes. they are everywhere! expect to find 30-40 in your room. It might take 1-2 days for someone to react to this issue (as its not viewed as a problem)|2. Location: There is nothing around the hotel, it's a typical dull working class Mexican neighborhood that likes to party until late. There is a "river" that runs along the hotel, the surrounding building have waste water pipes than directly drains into this outdoor sewer.|3. Staff: the entire staff does not know how to talk to people. To know when someone needs attention, or to know when to leave people alone. With exception of the luggage valet (who somehow operates with manners and a voice of calm kindness (he should be the manager))|4. Water: knowing the probable source of the water, the cleanliness of the beer and baths become questionable. We didnt receive a clear answer to this question.|5. Fish Source: A fish restaurant in central Mexico! How fresh can it be? The waiter didnt know where the fish came from, additionally the chef had no idea. I hope its not the "river"|6. Sleep: We didnt get much sleep. Expect loud late night parties, slamming doors, train noise and vibrations. And constant mosquito attacks.|7. Spa: its got the paint peeling, rusty pipe industrial look. Cool right? Why don't we do this in the US? Good question, I will tell you. The chemicals used in industrial processes almost always render the space too toxic to use. Especially as it relates to food and bathing.|8. Boring: After your selfie at the Hercules fountain and a 15 walk, you are probably thinking: "Can we leave now?"|I want to leave this on a positive note: if you happen to find yourself within 15 minutes of the hotel and want a snack, the restaurant at the front of the...

Just wow. The hotel is something out of another world altogether. From the moment you walk in, rustic, industrial, and heartfelt decor sweep you into a space that films would dream of using as a set. High ceilings, adventurous tunnels, a trendy brewery and even a lounge for dancing are just some of the highlights that make this place unique. Don't miss the opportunity to climb to the top of the clock tower for a cool view and an elusive living area to work out of. The food is fantastic. The eggs benedict are to die for if you have breakfast at El Comedor. The chamorro at the brewery melts in your mouth. Pizzas, and a delicious tostada de rez are other notable items there. If you like wheat beer, the Buen Chofer is super tasty. Salon Salvaje is the spot to dance and hang out at, with weekly entertainment available, it is a nocturnal haven. Danny at the pool and at El Comedor was terrific, he never ceased to greet us with a smile and take care of our drink & food orders. Carlos at the valet, a huge thank you to you for treating my family like they were part of yours. Make sure to check out the shop for cute and comfy bathing suits. If you visit the spa, the plunge pools are awesome. Should you decide to request a massage, I definitely recommend Alicia. She gave me one of the best massages I've had in a while.
