Goodness - I have all the tea for you. This review is an all-encompassing review that will give you ALL the information you possibly need. Part one is a review of the place and Part two is an all you need to know about your day there.
My husband (47M) and I (42F) took our 16 year old twins (boys) to Selvatica for a day of adventure. This day was SO. MUCH. FUN. One of the top ten days of my life. Like, legit the BEST DAY.
First off - let me tip my cap to Chino, Kike, and Alma (I adore you Alma!). They were hilarious and kind and FUN and encouraging and just the coolest people EVER!! I basically want to be best friends with them and hang out with them every day all day long. They had a whole crew of awesome and amazing people and the whole day ran unbelievably smooth. WAY better than Xplor because this is a guided tour and it's not just random. There is a schedule and it just runs PERFECTLY. It is beautiful there, all the the different adventures are SO FUN and SCARY. I wanted to go back again and again and again and will 1,000% go back.
Things to know: We bought the Gimmie All and it was totally worth it. We started with the Bungee Jump Swing where you jump from 30 feet up. I am terrified of falling from heights and I almost didn't do it but I am so glad that I did. This was for sure the scariest of all the things I did but it was AWESOME!! Then we did the 10 ziplines and the aqua zip - SO fun and fast and thrilling and LOTS of stairs but it's beautiful and awesome! Then we had a snack (quite possibly the best quesadilla I've ever had!) I'm a vegetarian and they were able to provide me with vegetarian food.
Then we went and did the ATVs, which my twins were able to drive their own. Lots of mud and speed and I'm surprised my smile didn't break my face. Then we went and swam in the cenote. There is a 20 foot platform you can jump from (and I think a 10 foot platform) and a zipline into the water. It's a scary jump but SO fun - DO IT!! After that we went on the SuperFlight ziplines - one of the other participants said "oh great, they're already loading us into body bags!" Hilarious. It was a little scary laying there because you are HIGH up and laying on your stomach, but once you fall off the table into the air - it's easy and amazing! After all that, delicious fajitas!!
We didn't use the sunscreen we brought but it was pretty cloudy. I wish we had brought bug spray but they did have some there for sale. If you don't bring any, definitely buy some. They have some really strong stuff that was great. We bought the photo package - WORTH IT!! The pictures are INSANELY AMAZING. We ended up with over 350 pictures and they are high quality! We also paid for the combos that covered ATV insurance, towels and lockers. We got two combo twos (each combo gave us two towels, a locker, and ATV insurance for two).
Their gift shop had amazing things to buy and they were so cheap. We bought so many things!
We bought the tickets via the website - SO much cheaper than buying it through our hotel. We added on the transportation when we bought the tickets and it was very easy getting picked up and driven to and from our hotel. Also, for shoes - one of my twins wore his sneakers, one wore Crocs, and my husband and I wore those kind of all terrain sandals with straps.
We've done Xcaret and Xplor but this place is a million times better. Do not...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a heart-pounding, laugh-out-loud adventure in Cancun, look no further than Selvatica! We embarked on the "Gimme All" tour, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of spectacular. Our guide, Chino, deserves a medal for not just being a safety guru but also a stand-up comedian. All the jokes were so good that even the safety briefings felt like a comedy show.
Let’s start with the zipline experience. Selvatica’s ziplines are not for the faint of heart. The speed will make you feel like you're being shot from a cannon, and the manual braking ensures you’ll have a story to tell about your heroic struggle to stop yourself gracefully. And then there's the Tanzania zipline—hold on tight because you’ll be flying across like a superhero, minus the cape and superpowers. Chino’s instructions on braking felt like tips from a seasoned stunt double—perfectly designed to make sure we landed safely, even if we looked like human rockets on the way down.
Next, we took a ride on the coaster. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill amusement park ride; it’s a wild, wind-in-your-hair, adrenaline-pumping experience. It’s like someone took a roller coaster, added a touch of insanity, and threw in a sprinkling of awesome. The screams of joy (and occasional fright) were music to our ears.
Off-road driving in the Polaris RZR 1000 was another highlight. Imagine you’re in a rugged dune buggy, tearing through the terrain like you’re in a high-octane action movie. The Polaris RZR 1000 made us feel like off-road legends, and Chino’s encouragement made us laugh as we bounced and swerved, trying not to spill our imaginary coffee.
Then came the bungee swing, which I can only describe as a blend of exhilaration and pure, unfiltered terror. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of launching yourself into the air while screaming your lungs out and then swinging back with the grace of a slightly confused pendulum.
Finally, we took a refreshing dip in a private cenote. The water was so clean and cool that it felt like swimming in nature's own infinity pool. Plus, it was a perfect way to unwind after all the adrenaline-pumping activities.
The photo package at Selvatica is definitely an added cost, but it’s absolutely worth every penny. The effort and quality of the photos are impressive; they capture every exhilarating moment of your adventure with stunning clarity and creativity. We highly recommend purchasing the package at check-in to save a bit of money, as it’s priced fairly for the fantastic memories you’ll take home. The photos are a perfect way to relive the excitement and show off your epic day to friends and family!
Selvatica truly knows how to mix safety with fun. They take their safety protocols very seriously, which is comforting, especially when you're plummeting through the air or tearing through the jungle. But they also sprinkle in humor and joy that makes the whole experience unforgettable. Chino and the team are masters at making sure you have a blast while keeping everything safe and sound. If you’re in Cancun and want an adventure that combines thrills, laughs, and a dash of pure fun, Selvatica is your go-to...
Read moreThis place was amazing! I definitely recommend it. The buildings, the property, even the restrooms we're beautiful and clean! Without a doubt I faced a lot of my fears within a 4-Hour period. I might be over my fear of heights now! The staff was so encouraging and so helpful and there were so many of them. There was somebody with you every step of the way. The guys that took us on the ATVs we're sooooo friendly and helpful. I have to say....there was one guide there that stood out. he was born in the United States and moved there. His name is Dennis. As amazing as this place was I think that I was a hundred times more fun simply because he was such an amazing guide. From the second we walked in he had everybody laughing everybody's joking around just having a good time there was never a dull moment. Just buy him interacting with us all so much I ended up leaving there feeling like the whole group( we started as strangers)ended up being our new friends. I believe it would have been fun but a whole different experience if Dennin wasn't there!! After we got time we sat down to an amazing lunch. the luncheon and tea were included in the price. Alcoholic drinks at the bar for an extra cost. They do have a nice size locker to put your things then you can rent it for $10... It's a little high but trust me you're going to need it. The pictures they took throughout were absolutely amazing! Cost of photos was around $75. They were so good I definitely would have bought them but I was extremely bummed out because I didn't bring that much extra cash on me so I couldn't get the pictures. The ziplines were breathtaking amazing flying free through the treetops. We even got the zipline into a cenote. The human roller coaster was really neat but it jerks on your arms and shoulders pretty good. I would do this all...
