Restrooms Seperate for gents and ladies Picnic area There are benches and shades in the park for family outingBeautiful area..and well maintained park. I went for most revered Chhath puja of Hindu festival. Overall an okay experience, but this is a local go-to and it would be nice to see it updated and cleaned up. Nicely laid out emerges out as a very important place for all Hindus. All rituals after the demise of soul for 10days been done here in Nakshatra bhawan situated next to the Governor house. Adding nice shelter recently by local MLA to do all the rituals and Puja for peace has added more comfortable for the people. The pond next to Shelter Bhawan is also in good shape n cleaned. Adding Gardens &:green trees all along give a peaceful feelings for the family WHO use for their rituals. FINALLY Ranchi people got some better facilities here. Thank you all the staff for keeping these facilities clean and presentable.,,👍👌

Nakshatra Van is a park created by the Jharkhand Forest Department in front of the residence of the governor of Jharkhand in Ranchi, the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand.[1] A Nakshatra or lunar mansion is one of the 27 or 28 divisions of the sky that the Moon passes through during its monthly cycle, as used in Hindu astronomy and Hindu astrology. Each Nakshatra is identified by its prominent star(s) and is associated with a Zodiac. Hindu astrologers believe that each constellation of the zodiac is associated with a tree. Those trees are of medicinal, social, aesthetic or economic value.[2] The foundation stone for the park was laid by Sri L. K. Advani, Deputy Prime Minister of India in 2002. He planted a Vikankat on that day. The responsibility for planning and developing the park was given to Social Forestry Division. Department officials visited a Zodiac Park in Bangalore to study the concept. Scientists from the Indian Institute of Astro-Physics were consulted in the planning process. It took around two years to complete the construction of the park.[3] The park was opened after a colourful programme on the occasion of Van Mahotsav in 2004. The park was inaugurated by Governor M. Rama Jois and many other dignitaries. The administration and management of the park was transferred to Jharkhand State Forest Development Corporation in 2004.[4]

NAKSHATRA VAN is a park created by the Jharkhand Forest Department in front of the Jharkhand Raj Bhawan in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, a state of India. Nakshatra van is good and attractive park. Good place for visit with family. There was small and attractive fountain also. Nakshatra Van, Ranchi boasts to be a park unique in its own ways. The park can be said to be divided in various sections. The park is centered around a circle, which is a representation of the various Nakshatras on the ground. The circle is divided in arcs precisely according to the angles, these zodiacs subtend on earth. Tree of a particular zodiac has been planted in its corresponding arc. At the center of this circle, there is a musical fountain which has a huge pot in which the water gets collected.
