This is a nice beach. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This is a long sandy beach, the southern part of which is in a resort accessible to the public with beach chairs that cost $10, and the northern part of which is a public park with no beach chairs. The resort portion of the beach has very shallow water. I was able to walk about 60 ft from the shore while the water was only 2 ft deep. There’s a lot of sea grass in the shallow part of the ocean, but a path was cut through for people to wade through. There are also windsurfing lessons you can do here. There’s a restaurant and bar on this beach. The northern section of this beach has more sea grass in its shallow waters and some areas where it isn’t so you can wade past. I didn’t go swimming in this area, but there were some snorkelers here. The beach was also significantly less crowded, which was nice. There was a food truck here where I had some freshly caught fish for lunch, which was quite tasty. I gave this beach five stars because it’s a beautiful beach with nice water for swimming. The bay this beach is on is also a competition spot on the wind surfing world circuit, which is...
Read moreSorobon is a great place to stop and grab a drink or enjoy some lunch. We came twice during our visit to Bonaire and had a positive experience both times.
The first time we visited was during a day the cruise ship was in, and so it got quite busy with day tripper’s coming in. We ended up at a spot at the bar “reef bar” for a couple of drinks. It was an easy walk to get to from the main entrance and allowed for a beautiful spot to watch the surfers on the water. The bartenders were really friendly and kind to us and prices were fair.
We decided to come back later that week for lunch. It was our last full day in Bonaire, and a Friday, so we opted to have a table just off the beach to enjoy some lunch and watch the surfers on the water. We both ordered delicious meals and the portion sizes were plenty filling. I believe there was a shift change or someone went on break, as our waitress was gone for some time between our drinks and ordering our meal (we were the first people to arrive). We still enjoyed our time and meal there and would still...
Read moreSorobon Beach in Bonaire is often praised for its laid-back atmosphere and stunning natural beauty. Visitors enjoy the calm, clear waters, making it an ideal spot for windsurfing and kiteboarding, especially given the steady trade winds. The shallow waters stretch out for a long way, providing a safe and serene environment for swimming and relaxing.
The beach has a few amenities, including a couple of small bars and rental shops for water sports equipment. The surrounding area is relatively undeveloped, preserving its peaceful vibe. However, some people note that the beach can be windy at times, which may not be ideal for those seeking calm, still water for swimming.
Overall, Sorobon Beach is well-regarded for its natural charm, water sports, and tranquility, though it may not offer the bustling tourist attractions of more crowded beaches. It’s perfect for those seeking a quieter, more authentic...
