We were a party of four, one of whom has a number of food allergies and whose system gets really messed up when chefs make a mistake, so she brought her own food. Three of us were paying customers buying food and drink. A manager comes over and says “you’re in a restaurant, you can’t bring your own food”. When we explained about the food allergies, first she asked for all the details of what they were and then said if we had asked first it would have been fine, but since we didn’t it wasn’t ok. Mind you we were almost finished with our meals anyway. It’s like we were children being scolded. Awful, rude, insistent, saying the same thing over and over, and yet if we had asked permission from her highness it would have been granted, but since we didn’t we’re off to the executioner. If you haven’t gathered by now, never, ever going back there. Even though the place itself has a fun vide, and the food was pretty good - but the service...

Not worth it, I don’t understand the hype. We did the beach BBQ, maybe I’m American, or maybe I’m just correct, but that was not no BBQ. I was expecting a bonfire, smokers, whole pigs/chicken/beef, real ribs. It was more of Korean bbq, where u cook at your own table. Tiny meat portions, unseasoned tuna steaks, chicken was bland, and mini burgers. Ribs left a lot to be desired. Rock hard rolls, grocery store pasta salad and coleslaw. Save your money, go to the store and buy quality meats, and cook em back at your place. Smoke blowing in your face the whole meal. Cool area if you want to watch people kite board, gets old after 5 minutes. I’d consider this a classic tourist trap. Waiters were really nice, cannot blame them. Side note, awful layout for tables, servers couldn’t even grab hot grills away without the table moving out of the way. Maybe try coming here to get a cold beer and sit by the beach, not my...

Drinks, wind surfers and great views. This was the second time I have returned to this fun, beach side restaurant and bar. You can watch all the different water activities, have cold beverages and enjoy delicious food. The BLT was amazing, it is not your regular take, there is all the components, but it is deconstructed with a good portion of egg salad on a nice fresh thick piece of house baked wheat bread. I highly recommend it. I had a burger the last time I came. It was just as delicious, but this meal was out of the regular bar fare. The wait staff is friendly. This again is a place on island time. If you are in a hurry, lol....good luck waiting. The island vibe and views is a great kick off for a vacation in Bonaire. The locals love it, and the tourist should not miss out on visiting. You may even learn to wind surf while...

One of my favorite beach bars in the entire Caribbean! Located in the Jibe City windsurfer oasis/school on Lac Bay in fabulous Bonaire and a perfect beach dive bar vibe! Very friendly and welcoming staff, great Dutch-centric food and drink menu, and front row seating to the windsurfing show always happening on Lac Bay! Barefoot bar seating, a few cozy and shady tables on the deck, and comfy loungers right in the sand draw you in and make you think, I could quit my job, sell the house, and move to Bonaire. Seriously. They even have Wi-Fi to get on Zillow. UPDATE: 2nd visit as perfect as the first. Spent the majority of our stop in Bonaire @ Hang Out and wish we could have stayed longer! Great staff (shout-out to Ester and Nina), delicious grub (especially the tuna nachos), and beach dive bar perfection!

The absolute epitome of a surf bar. IN the water, (or as good as) bundles of atmosphere, where everyone is happy to sit and have a chat, watching the windsurfers fly in and out from the windsurf hire place next to it. It’s like a beachfront club for fans of “Cheers”. So expect to be sociable. Fruit smoothies, crazy caipirinha’s, and plenty of cafe-type food options, ie burgers, sandwiches and fish specials. It’s all presided over by Gilbert, Lac Bay’s very own living legend - and the only person for five miles who doesn’t windsurf.
