Museum BroekerVeiling — Attraction in Dijk en Waard

At this museum you will find out how Netherlands became the most fruitful vegetable country in the world. You will need about 3-4 hours to enjoy all the information provided. Tickets around 20 euro/person. Here is how everything began:

The auction was founded on July 29, 1887 at the Bakkersbrug. The auction traded mainly kool that by ship to, among other things Amsterdam was transported. The auction took place in the open air. A jetty and a channel were added, allowing the auction to be more orderly. A horticultural cooperative was founded in 1896 and two years later, in addition to a butcher, a judge appointed. The jetty was covered. In 1907 the auction traded for 700,000 guilders. That year the auction received a train connection via the railway line St. Pancras - Broek op Langedijk this also made transport to Rotterdam, among others, possible. In 1911 the annual turnover was almost 3 million guilders.

In 1912, the old auction building was replaced according to a design by W. Dirkmaat Jz. and Joh. Big. The auction building was built above the water on wooden poles, allowing gardeners to sail through the mining hall (auction room) with their barges loaded with vegetables. It was therefore also called a passage auction. The previously purchased mechanical equipment was installed in the mining hall auction clock from 1903 placed above the passage. This clock can be stopped via buttons at the 100 seats for buyers. Auctions were by boatload. The order of the boats was determined by drawing lots. On July 29, 1912, the auction room was festively opened by the Queen's Commissioner of North Holland.

In 1922 the building was expanded with a light hall above the water for boats. It acts as a covered port so that the products were no longer exposed to bright sun, rain and other weather influences while waiting. In 1925, an entrance and a second light hall were built, creating a total of 200 berths.

Due to land consolidation in the 1960s, the importance of water transport decreased. The auction merged in 1968 with the auction of Warmenhuizen and Noord-Scharwoude to form “auction Langedijk and Omstreek” and chose the auction building in Noord-Scharwoude as its head office. The passage auction was closed in 1973. The auction activities later merged with the West Friesland-Oost auction, today The Greenery.

The auction complex had hardly changed in those years. After closure, it was purchased by the municipality in 1973 with the aim of turning it into a monument. In 1975 it was announced that the central government was making money available for the restoration of the auction building. Zondag bezochten wij als familie-uitje de Broekerveiling. We hadden er, ondanks alle –daar goed geregelde- corona regels echt een fantastische dag. We begonnen met koffie én gebak. Wij hebben in de familie 2 personen met een ernstige gluten allergie en daar was met het gebak echt rekening mee gehouden. De lokale bakker had zeer goed smakend glutenvrij gebak afgeleverd dat goed viel en dat maken we wel eens anders mee. Heel goed gedaan. Na de koffie een zeer inspirerende rondleiding door gebouw, terrein en geschiedenis, waarbij we ook heel veel vragen konden stellen. Door de rondleider werden we afgeleverd bij de boot en voeren we met de vrolijk vertellende kapitein langs tientallen eilandjes en dat was heel interessant. Beetje jammer dat een buurman van het museum het nodig vind om bordjes in de tuin te hangen dat de rondvaartboot van de veiling “stinkt en milieuvervuilend is”. Hoe kinderachtig en klein kan je zijn. Wie was daar eerder, de buurman of de veiling? Na de vaartocht werden we uitgenodigd voor de lunch. Lekker soepje, heet kroketje op brood en wat West Friese lekkernijen. Heel goed en opnieuw was er nagedacht over onze glutenallergie personen. Gewoon een heel lekkere lunch, misschien voor hele grotere eters niet helemaal genoeg, maar voor onze groep was het goed en alles was schoon op! Voor de kleintjes is er binnen ook een glijbaantje en wat kindvriendelijke ouderwetse spelletjes. Dus ook zij kwamen goed aan hun trekken. Daarna gingen we naar het echte veiling gebouw met de klok. Zou dit het hoogtepunt zijn? Daar werden we verrast door een paar leuke meiden in authentieke kostuums, die gingen uitleggen hoe het één en ander in zijn werk ging en toen begon de echte veiling met zakjes fruit en groente. De dames maakten er werkelijk een feestje van. Ze acteerden of het leven ervan af hing. Namen de bezoekers op een leuke manier in de maling en verkochten met veel grappen en grollen de handel. Iedereen had de grootste lol en ja, het was echt het hoogtepunt van de dag. Gewoon heel erg leuk en voor iedereen aan te bevelen. Alles perfect in...

Museum Broeker Veiling находится в небольшом городке Брук -оп-Лангедейк в провинции Северная Голландия .Это место примечательно тем,что расположено возле десятка тысяч островов в польдерах .И сам музей уникальный в своем роде, это бывшее место ,единственное в Нидерландах,где раньше проводился овощной аукцион.Овощи выращивались фермерами на небольших островах и доставлялись на лодках в это место на аукцион .На входе нам выдали две карточки с указанием времени, одна -на экскурсионную поездку в лодке между островами, где выращиваются разные сельскохозяйственные культуры, другая-в аукционный зал. Времени до экскурсии на лодке был час,я успела посмотреть короткий фильм про историю аукциона, побывала на музейной выставке и посмотрела экспонаты в нескольких залах, прошлась по тропе маршрута аукциона по территории сада музея, посмотрела домашних животных в контактном мини зоопарке,и наконец, прошлась по подмосткам крытого павильона с лодками(собрано большое количество старинных лодок,на которых привозились овощи,а также там находились и экскурсионные кораблики).Экскурсия велась на нидерландском ,в котором я не сильна,поэтому я наслаждалась окружающей природой и получила истинное удовольствие от такой прогулки.Далее по времени началось представление самого аукциона .Все было очень интересно и познавательно,я даже не могла предположить,что мне все так понравится в этом музее,поэтому за эмоции,которые я получила,ставлю высший балл-5 звездочек.На территории так же есть ресторан и много мест для отдыха и наблюдения .На входе действует...
