Entree fee is very fair 13 euro for adult but what they do not tell you is because it is in a protect national park Hoge veluwe, people need to purchase an entree ticket to the park that is 13,05 for adult and depends on where you want to park. AT the museum 9,50 euro, gate of the park 4,65 euro. What good about the park is it is large and it included free use of bike, but carefull there is limit bikes but also alot of bikes. So depends on what you perfer 4,65 and 6min biking.
So the museum is very dated but also modern. it was a former home. The collection is good if you understand it is a private collection. For me it was not that intersting I have the feeling they focus much on decorating their garden instead of what they want at home. The collection is leaning towards more modern. It is not large they have a big collection of Vincent van Gogh great stuff. After the museum you can visit the garden what is really lovely done and it is more like a scavenger hunt, as they have adventure, short and long paths. Not all art pieces are just next to the route sometimes you need to walk off the path to experience or see it. Love it. ofcourse due to size and private collection the collection will hardly rotate so meaning watch it 1 time and you are good for a long time.
What really turns me down is the high cost. 13+13,65=25,65 pp I am fast in watching art especially when they do not have description or does not attract me that much. so I was done in like 2.5H including garden.

Read moreThis museum is off in the cut. From Amsterdam, it takes over an hour, so plan accordingly. You'll need the whole day to get there and then back. It's set inside the De Hoge Veluwe National Park. You'll need tickets to both the park and the museum. Get to the park early, to explore if you love nature. The Kröller-Müllers were art collectors in the late 1800s and 1900s. They were affluent German art collectors searching for the most important art they could find. She becomes the second largest Van Gogh collector in the world and remains so to this day with 90 paintings and 180 scetches and drawlings. Vincent is the center of her collection, and she believed he was superior to all other artists. While her enormous home is now a museum, and the yard is a sculpture garden surrounded by the national park, she holds works from Picasso, George Seurat, and his followers, Gauguin, and many, many more. She was brilliant and she is a hero of mine. She and Johanna Bonger-Van Gogh are the reason Vincent became famous and who we know today as the Dutch master post impressionist. You're a real Van Gogh fan if you know of Helene Kröller-Müller. I recommend this...
Read moreVery very disappointed.
Indoor area : nice collection although only a small fraction of the Van Gogh collection is here, old museography without much effort to put the art pieces in their context, nor create an art trail that would enlighten the styles. No audio guides, nor app available. One good thing is the glass protecting the paintings was no shine so you can get very close and children get to see without problems.
Outdoor area : beautiful park and trees but really disappointing in term of art. About a third of the pieces are currently not on display without it being clearly notified at the entrance, lots of sculptures are protected under individual gazebo with a net you can't see through. A simple light inside might allow for the piece to be seen? The Dubuffet is under major long term renovation.
Price of admission is just enormous compared to the quality of this museum. For our family of 4, it was 57€! Our 6yo and 8yo children paid 9.50€. Maybe it is a good day out in the summer months but in November, this is way...
