Aug 2022 update:
There are a lot of negative reviews here stating that it's crowded, dirty and overpriced. I have to say I don't agree on all of these points but it is by no means perfect. We did our background reading and knew about the choice that had to be made (inside or outside). We booked ahead for a quiet period (check on Google) and it was busy but not excessive. The changing rooms are small but adequate if you pack light. The lockers are free and just need you to read the instructions. Worked flawlessly for us. The water is unfortunately quite cool (31C) I suspect because of the energy costs but it's absolutely fine once you've got wet once. There was some and accumulated in places but not that much. There was a few very sparse bits of rubbish (one bit).
The queue for each ride was not too onerous (worst was 30 mins for cyclone) but you can get on most slides pretty quick (we got on about 8 or 9 things in our 1:45).
The weird thing is the safety attitude of the management. There is no stay at all at the top of the slides. This led to quite a few dodgy double-sliders which led to collisions (between consenting people but still). There were some arrogant queue pushers but very infrequent.
The loss of the rubber rings in the lazy river is a shame but still ok. Wave pool a bit mental when waves are going (IE busy) but otherwise fine. Kids section is still good (with warmer water!).
Didn't try our want or try the food (you're only in there for 2 hrs for goodness sake!).
So overall, I enjoyed it. If you expect to go for a swim you'll be very disappointed. If you go for the "rides", it's very varied and fun. It is a bit hectic but we liked it. Just wish the safety management extended to the slide start point.
Recent improvements have made it even better. Four new "junior" slides which can be used by toddlers with arm bands are great. Parents can watch from the sidelines watching the exits. All other...
Read moreIt had been years since I visited the Tiki Pool, so when a friend asked whether I wanted to come along and visit the Tiki Pool I happily agreed.
I wasn't too happy with my visit. Luckily we parked in a local neighbourhood instead of the park itself, which kept us from paying 15 euros of parking. We paid 24,50 for entrance per ticket, which given the experience seems rather steep.
Many slides share an entrance/queue. This seems fine as in theory it would make the queue go faster as people would go on both slides. In practice however, people often queue for a specific slide.
So the queue for slide A and slide B might be 30 minutes. Everyone however only wants to go onto slide A. As a result nobody is using slide B, and the queue for both slides has turned into a queue for slide A. Slide A also has a traffic light that allows someone to go down the slide about every 20 seconds or so. Meaning that in an hour, slide A can carry 180 people. This just is not enough given the amount of people in the Tiki Pool.
Many of the lifeguards that used to be present next to the slides are gone. Instead it's mostly young adult life guards who monitor screens that display people entering the slides.
No real place to swim. It's a rather small building and much of the building is used for the slides.
Slides are fun but seem dangerous. You go extremely fast and lack of lifeguards makes it so that people ignoring the traffic light might hurt themselves.
Even on a sunday at 6-10 PM, the Tiki Pool feels extremely crowded. It feels like the Tiki Pool should have 1/3rd of the visitors. 1/4th if you want to have okay queues.
-Rather dirty. I saw puke on the floor, there is mold on several of the slides and I also saw somesort of paper junk laying on the floor. A good two hours later that was...
Read moreThe first negative point was definitely the price! We had to pay both for Tikibad and the funpark, while we actually only wanted to use Tikibad. Also the 7,50 for parking was quite a surprise. The slides are pretty good, but the water temperature and the air temperature are really too low. There is not really a place to warm up. Only the small whirlpool is warm, but that is very small and often full. Also there are 3 steam cabins are warm, but for these you have to pay 3 euros to be able to use it, which is ridiculous! Another negative point was the fact that the swimming pool was overcrowded with screaming children and there is no single place to relax. It would have been nice if they would have also made an area for older people to be away from all the children. Also me and my boyfriend had trouble with the locker system, which is a very bad system. It looks like they want to be modern with this locker system, but it rather is very annoying. Often you have to wait to be able to enter your locker code so it will open, and when you finally managed to open it, it closes itself again, so you will have to wait again to enter your locker number and open it again. The last point we did not like were the showers. There are just a few showers that are unisex, so you are not able to fully clean yourself cause there is no possibility to shower naked. Also there is just no place to put your towel and shower stuff, so eventually most people put their stuff on the baby-change-table. Lastly there was also no decent place to dry yourself. Also this most people did at the baby-change-area. All together we were quite disappointed by Tikibad and will not go there again. Next time we rather go to Tropical Island close to Berlin again, which is...
