Poor service. Food was fine but we arrived before 7.30pm. Our orders were taken in good time and drinks served. But then the service went down hill. There were two other familes that arrived after us and were served before us. Although our starters did not arrive too far behind these other two families, they had received main courses and desserts before we had even received our main course. There were no explanations of the delayed service or apologies. Then when main courses were arriving it appeared that our daughter's order of children's chicken nuggets had been forgotten. Eventually the waitress asked if our daughter had ordered chicken nuggets and whether we wanted them still. I expressed that we were keen to eat all together as a family and that if the chicken nuggets were not with us soon they may have to heat my meal up. Chicken nuggets arrived and we ate our main courses there was still no apology or any gestures of goodwill. No one came to our table again and so I had to go to the bar to settle the bill. Of course no tip was left. When we first entered the restaurant we were keen to try one of their desserts. But, as we were in the restaurant almost 2 and a half hours already and have 3 young children we did not have time and were clearly unhappy with the service. If we ever visit Duinrell again we will not be returning to...

From the moment we stepped into this excuse of a restaurant, it was a downhill slide into culinary misery. The hostess greeted us with all the enthusiasm of someone attending a tax audit. We waited 25 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation — apparently, that means nothing here.
The decor looked like a garage sale had exploded and no one bothered to clean it up. Dim lighting tried (and failed) to hide the grime on the menus, which were sticky enough to warrant a biohazard label.
Now, the food. If I had wanted to eat something that tasted like wet cardboard, I could’ve stayed home and boiled my Amazon boxes. My steak was so overcooked I needed a saw to cut it. My partner’s pasta was undercooked and somehow both dry and watery — a paradox only this kitchen could achieve. We sent the food back, and what returned was somehow worse. They also managed to forget our drinks three times. We ended up walking over to the bar and getting them ourselves.
Service? Nonexistent. Our server vanished for most of the night, only reappearing to drop the bill like it was radioactive. No apology, no check-in, nothing.
The only thing I enjoyed was leaving.
Avoid this place like the plague unless you’re in the mood for disappointment, frustration, and an intense desire to write a scathing review....
Read moreHaving read lots of reviews, can relate to the negatives but here’s my honest review whilst still sat in the restaurant.. reserved a table for 19:00 was seated at 18:45, sat for 20 mins with no one asking if we would like to order drinks, so I got up and asked if we could have drinks, drinks took 15 min to arrive.. meanwhile ordered food, food arrived quite quickly and was absolutely beautiful!! Despite the initial wait for a waitress for our drinks the staff were all very friendly and polite, to summarise food beautiful, staff a little unorganised or possibly understaffed however very polite and friendly, price wise expensive but so are a lot of similar eateries in the area. One review mentioned pops restaurant a little further into town, I would definitely champion pops, we ate there a couple of days ago, it’s very reasonably priced and also...
