City Museum Woerden — Attraction in Woerden

Leuk museum en behapbaar. Boeiende tentoonstelling over de geschiedenis van Woerden die heel ver teruggaat in de tijd. De Romeinse tijd, de tijd van Bonifacius en alles er na. Maar zelfs de tijd dat hier dieren leefde die we alleen uit Afrika kennen. Daarnaast is er kunst te zien en zijn er wisselende tentoonstellingen. Zoals nu de tentoonstelling over Street Art, of grafitti. Door velen verfoeid, maar met een bezoek aan deze tentoonstelling zou je misschien wat anders erover gaan denken. Wellicht inspireert het. Dat ik maar 3 sterren geef heeft te maken met de toegankelijkheid voor mensen in rolstoelen of slecht ter been. Hier mag de gemeente wel eens creatief in worden. De enthousiaste vrijwilligers zijn goede gastheren en gastvrouwen. De mini giftshop heeft niet veel maar wat er ligt zijn aanraders. Het elangrujkstecis een prachtig fotoboek van oud Woerden, een stadsbeeld uit de jaren 50 en 60. Schitterende zwartwit foto's die mij terugbrengen naar mijn jeugd en mij zelfs verbazen ovee de enirm snelle ontwikkelingen in get straatbeeld in een relatief korte tijd. Een boek waarmee je jeugdherinneringen ophaalt, of kan zien hie je ouders of grootouders leefden. Een leuk cadeautje voor anderen, voor slechts 8.50, een maandblad...

Woerden is a lovely small dutch town in the countryside with a lively city center of shops and cafes. This city museum is a great way to spend an hour as the building itself is historical and then you get interesting rotating exhibits (I was there for a textile exhibit) as well as the history of Romans in the town....
