J'AIME — Attraction in Christchurch

Had the worst store experience at this place today around 3pm (Wednesday 08/01/25): As I was trying to choose the flavour of the macarons, I placed my hand on the glass cabinet, then the shop lady there screamed at me saying "Don't touch the glass, I just cleaned it and it's very expensive!!" I was shocked by her extremely rude attitude. It's certainly not how you should treat a paying customer, also if you don't wish your customers to touch the glass cabinet because it is so "expensive" you should put a sign up expressing that so people know not to touch your glass cabinet. It is absurd to yell at your customer to not touch the cabinet simply because you just cleaned it and because it's expensive!! The matter of fact, the pack of macarons I brought have just paid for you to clean the glass cabinet again!! A stuck-up cashier who works at Merivel Mall thinks she's better than anyone else, what a joke.

Such a shame having a horrible store person there representing your store in this way, definitely...

Jaime is an absolute gem in Christchurch!

Their macarons are consistently perfect — crisp shells with a soft, almost chewy interior that melt in your mouth. Our all-time favourite flavours are Rose and Salted Butter Caramel, but the Hot Chocolate & Raspberry is a delicious surprise too!

Jaime is our go-to for gifting — whether it’s Mother’s Day, Easter, birthdays, or celebrating a new baby. It’s so handy to be able to add their amazing confectionery (highly recommend the brittle and rocky road!) and a selection of teas to complete the gift.

In Christchurch from Canada with my wife and daughter, the latter of whom is an expert macaron baker. Lauren took care of us, pointing out her favourites and where the macarons are baked. She was very helpful. My daughter, and the rest of us, gave very high ratings for the quality and selection.
