Rather than go into the city we decided to visit the Brewers. Never again. Although there were plenty of empty tables our group of four were seated at the smallest table which was very awkward to say the least. Three out of four of the meals were inedible. The staff could see our still full plates and completely ignored us. We decided to leave without having desert. The one good thing was that after telling them that the food was not good they did not charge us for two mains. Also I dont what they use to clean the toilets but every time the door was opened the entire place was filled with an unpleasant chemical smell. We nearly missed this place as we were wandering looking for a meal and I am so glad we didn't. It was warm and busy with the din of people laughing and chatting. The food was devine!!! I had a steak and as I like mine rare, I often find people struggle to get it right but so much yum!!!! My knife practically melted through it. The salad was fresh and the chips cooked to perfection. My partner had the roast brisket which I almost got food envy over. The food was great, the beer cold and even a good old meat raffle was drawn. The saddest pub u can ever go to. The staff was demotivated. Just being there for the sake of it. Had to get our own plates. No water given. Took forever for the food and when the food that came out it was horrible. The chicken dish on the menu did not mention it came with bacon. Had to send the food back and left empty stomach. The mushroom sauce smelled and the worst muahroom sauce ever had. It made the plate even worse . Clearly the chef does not know how to cook. The guy on the FOH is great and offered free drink and apologized. But would never go there again. Surprising the place is even open in a location like Merivale. Place needs...
