Left city fitness Mount Wellington a negative review on their Facebook page last night only to see my review wasn’t visible today. Definitely fast to remove criticism.
The review reflected their lack in genuinely caring for customers. They’re truly only interested in your money.
My partner‘s younger brother (16 years old) had been using his family membership tag for over a year before City Fitness Mount Wellington barred the tag and neglected to notify my partner via email or any form of communication as to why his tag had been barred. When my partner went into the gym to find out why, they told him his brother wasn’t allowed to use the tag without him present. He starts going into the gym with his younger brother (during staffed hours) to then have him refused access by a lady named Joy because suddenly his brother has to be 18 or over to even be tagged in with his older brother via his family membership tag. She insisted he needed his own membership. At this point I’m thinking, what is even the point in having a family membership with these sorts of restrictions? I then question the fact that this isn’t directly referred to anywhere in the terms and conditions and the best that the lady I’m speaking to (again, Joy) can do is refer to a section that states anyone under the age of 18 needs to have their parent/guardian sign them up. However, this doesn’t mention anything to do with that relating to the family membership.
My partner decides to call up a different city fitness only to be told that his brother is more than welcome to tag in with him on his family membership and will only be asked for I.D if he looks younger than 14. Just so we’re clear, this was after wasting more money signing his younger brother up with his own membership because City Fitness Mount Wellington decided he wasn’t allowed to enter with either of us via our family memberships that were purchased for the sake of getting him into the gym with us.
As mentioned on my Facebook review, I definitely feel like city fitness Mount Wellington twisted the terms and conditions to suit their pockets and really took advantage of us.
Upon each of us signing up, the staff weren’t very helpful in settling us into the gym or showing us around but they were more than happy to help us fill in our payment details.
Super disappointed and will not be personally signing up with this gym ever...
Read moreHad tour around this place on Monday no one was free to give me a tour i seen some personal trainers on their phones in their uniform, there were a few machines that had weight left on them around 10am in the quite time. The lockers in the female change room were open and all over the place and shower floors were very wet and toilets smell a bit funny, as i was walking out the receptionist was on there phone and didn't even say bye. do not recommend this place as driving up the road i saw a gym called snap fitness in Lunn Ave and did meet the manger Steve. He was very professional he was busy but he took his 15 mins to give me tour showed me around made me feel very welcome and introduce me to a few members, i signed up there it felt more of a community gym where people are much more friendly high recommend to come check this gym out. and they every offer a free trail where city fitness does not and they casual...
Read moreI began my fitness journey in 2017 with CityFitness. Before that, I had tried joining gyms a couple of times, but I quickly lost motivation and never stuck with it. A friend then encouraged me to try the group classes at CityFitness—and it completely changed my life. The classes are fun, engaging, and always push you to give your best.
Since joining, I’ve gone from being someone who never ran to completing six half marathons—and now I’m training for my very first full marathon this year. None of this would have been possible without CityFitness.
One of the things I love most is the flexibility. With a Black Membership, you can attend a wide variety of classes at any CityFitness location, with no restrictions at all.
A huge thank you to all the incredible group fitness instructors—especially Charles, Aaron, Alicia, Joy, Ivan, Paige and Georgia—for inspiring me every...
