A must experience in New Zealand

I have just had the most incredible and exhilarating experience, white water rafting on the Kaituna Cascades… from the moment I arrived my friend and I were met with friendly faces and a great team of professional rafting guides: we were signed in and then kitted out with life jackets/booties/ helmets (with the option of a wet suit,) and allocated our guide who gave an in-depth briefing… our Rafting guide was Malcolm - who gave me the confidence to face my fears and be brave … Malcolm was brilliant he knew and read the water with confidence…. Whilst we paddled in unison, he gave clear and precise instructions. We navigated beautiful twists, and turns in the canyon with exceptional vegetation with bird song soaring high above. Be prepared to get wet. It was an incredible experience, especially riding the waterfalls there were beautiful quiet spots where the water was calm and Malcom encouraged us to get out of the boat and swim … he would then brief us on the next waterfall/rapid etc

I loved it when Malcolm played around in the water encouraging us to “paddle hard” back towards the waterfall… there was even the occasion that if you were a strong swimmer, you could swim down the waterfall yourself… it was at this moment I wished that I was a strong swimmer as it looked such an exciting/exhilarating moment.

Our raft went down the waterfall and waited in a quiet part of the “lagoon” whilst we watched them swim towards the waterfall and over it then swim towards our raft!

What fun we had - just over two hours of pure adrenaline fuelled excitement … I’ve definitely ticked this one off my bucket list. Thank You!!!!

If you are reading this feedback with the view to going white water rafting - read no further get online and book your space. You will not be disappointed.!

These guys are fully trained, confident and professional from start to finish - we even had over 70 photographs of our rafting experience captured and were not pressured into buying them - even if you had a GoPro, you would not get professional photographs like these and, at a very small additional cost ( I’m the one in the...

Yesterday I went on my first grade 5 white water rafting experience with Kaituna Cascades, and I loved it so much that I booked again to go today!

Honestly the most fun I have had and I just had to do it again before I flew home (I am tempted to book again for tomorrow and go 3 for 3 haha).

My guide, Ethan, was fantastic yesterday and so I chose to go with him again today and he did not disappoint. He was friendly, fun and knowledgeable and we all had a great time laughing and joking about falling out (and then we did haha). Because of the thorough safety introduction and the quality gear that was provided, I felt perfectly at ease throughout.

Blue in the kayak was incredible, weaving in and out of the rapids and going down the falls before us so he could assist if required.

The guides, the photographer and the office staff were all so lovely, helped each other and us out, and had the best personalities. The photos were incredible, so well priced and you get a heap of them!

I don’t think I have smiled or laughed that much before and if I had it my way, I’d do it again every single day.

Thanks so much Kaituna Cascades. I will definitely be back in NZ again and when I am, I will 1000% book with you again

I’m already looking at planning my next white water rafting trip with Kaituna Cascades, and I’ve only been back from my last one for a...

I enjoyed my short tour so much that I’m still thinking about it—it was incredible!

I arrived a bit early and got to chat with some of the staff… their jokes were great, and the couple is lovely. Keep up the good vibes! 😉

The gear they provide is excellent. We even got two fleeces to keep us warm, and they did an amazing job.

I did the rafting tour with two other girls and Dan as our guide and Josh as safety guy—an awesome small group!

I’ve been rafting three times before, but honestly, the 7m waterfall made me nervous this time. Normally, I don’t get that feeling doing stuff like this.

But wow, it was so much fun, and I felt completely safe. We made it down without flipping, even though it felt really close. Thinking about it now, maybe it would have been even cooler if we had flipped! :D

The photos turned out great as well. My only small critique is the photo pricing: if you buy them after the tour, it’s 50 NZD, but if you purchase within the first 24 hours on their website, it’s only 40 NZD. I didn’t know that beforehand—I would have gladly given the extra 10 NZD as a tip for Dan instead, lol.

Thank you so much, I hope I will see you...
