Shaynes Fresh Fish & Chip — Attraction in North Island

30 December 22 - decided we wanted good old fish n chips! Googled Shaynes Fish & Chips on recommendation of a friend - Google Business Profile said it was open. Called... no answer... fair enough at this time of the year as well, being so busy. I did get a voicemail, which was just the machine saying that it was full of messages and had no room for more messages (who would leave a message anyway?). Went for a drive there to make order in person and and would you believe, not open, closed for Christmas. Such a waste of time, the least you could do is have a voicemail for your customers to let them know you are closed, and update your Google Business Profile!!!! So slack... if you cant get the basics right then what is the food like?...

One of the worst experiences I have had at a fish and chip shop. So much so, if there was somewhere else close by, I would've left my money and just bought something else where. We ordered our meal with only 2 people in the shop who ordered before us..and waited almost an hour for our food despite 4 people standing in the kitchen in front of us! My Mum got hers 25minutes before us and hers went cold while we waited for ours. No update on the delay, no apology, no free potato fritters to say sorry...nothing. I will never be going here again, and if you after fast food and good customer service, I recommend you...

Recently only just discovered this fish and chip shop as it was on the way through where we were passing through. Ordered just chips and sausages for my family of 6. The chip portion was not a decent size whatsoever, we ordered 4 scoops and seemed like we had just under 2. Sausages tasted really off, like they had gone by their date of use. From our experience we will not be going back, as it was not enjoyable neither good...
