Trellisick Park / Ngaio Gorge, are suitable for walkers, not cyclists. Must have a reasonable level of fitness : there are seats, along the way, in little 'sun traps'. Checked out the "Fish Ladder", @ the Ngaio end of the park, about where the Ngaio Gorge, proper starts - it's quite narrow space, for a large catchment - Take Heed, the Kaiwharawhara River & Ngaio Stream, both have large catchments, & with a large amount of rain, the track may, in laces, be under water, as the scouring of the banks, indicates these streams/rivers, can rise over 1 meter, across the whole floor, including the flood Plains, along the banks. Several places, for picnics, & swims, along the length of the track. Please, leave the native fish alone, they are Protected. Tracks appear well sign-posted, to all areas of the parks.
