Huia Vineyards — Attraction in South Island

Having looked forward to actually getting to Huai vineyard for so long,it lived up to our expectations big time !! Billy took such wonderful care of us,and made sure we had a personal and memorable wine tasting,we also got to have a quick peek behind the scenes with the new owner Tom,who was a gentleman and explained the process of wine making with such enthusiasm,it was a delight Thank you Tom, they also have cheeses and cold meats to choose from if you fancy a few nibbles and some amazing sparkling wines,probably the best wine tasting we have been at not only in NZ but in France and Italy,we wish Tom,Billy and all the team at Huai...

The 8 of us stopped at Huia as 1 of 3 spots on a day-long Marlborough wine region tour. We enjoyed the wine and had a wonderful time on-site, learning a ton from kerry along the way.

She described every wine which was served to us and how it was made. She even took great care of our hungry kids.

Our tasting took place in a cute outdoor space surrounded by trees and chickens and sat alongside the vineyard itself.

Kerry also recommended other places around the area for us which was really cool to. Huia is well worth a stop if you’re in the area!

This was by far my favourite winery that I visited in this area. Not only was the wine varied and organic ( for example, blanc de blanc, brut rose, gewürztraminer) but the service was amazing. This was the only winery where I didn’t feel treated like a number and they limited the number of people they served at a time so that they were able to explain the wines in detail and be attentive to your questions or needs. I did not have an appointment, and did walk in without a problem. Cute bar to sit at and some nice outdoor seating as well. Amazing wine and amazing experience,...
