Having just seen the signs for this on the road, we popped in not knowing what to expect. This local gin is all distilled and bottled on site, and their specialty pinot noir gin is made using local Marlborough grapes. They gave a really interesting run down of the different botanicals and stories behind each gin in the tasting flight, and suggested tasting both neat and with tonic. Whilst the pinot noir gin was unfortunately not for me, the Marlborough Dry and the Navy Strength were absolutely delicious. I can't normally stomach a Navy Strength but the flavours in this are beautiful and make for a really smooth and tasty drink. A beautiful relaxing setting in their garden as well, and we shared some warm pitta breads served with a delicious dip. A surprising and welcome experience, I'm only sad I can't find their...

I stepped out of the Cheese & Cheers thinking that I had not done enough liver damage yet and on the way to the car, spotted the signs pointing the way to the Gin Shack. And so here I am, ordering a gin and tonic.

Sitting outside in their garden, on a couch in the shade, sipping on what was an absolutely perfect drink, I was definitely in my happy place. I'm halfway through my New Zealand adventure, with Christchurch/Blenheim behind and Wellington/Auckland ahead. It absolutely does not get any better than this.

Get a G&T. It's a magical drink. They distill the gin right here on site. You can see the distillery...

We stopped by on a whim with our toddler today. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. We sat on a blanket and pillows to try the delicious gin. The extra touches were exceptional. Bringing an extra water glass for the little one for example showed attention and care. When our little one wanted to explore, the staff brought over large jenga blocks to entertain him. Always courteous and friendly and knowledgeable. The food looked delicious but we didn’t want to push our luck. The gin...

Last weekend we had a group gathering here and it was amazing. They have a beautiful fire going during winter which made the experience so delightful during this colder weather. The food was very flavourful and of course the gin was amazing. They do tasting flights but also turn their gins into cocktails. Lovely service and if you're looking for a cozy place to catch up and relax the gin shack is a fabulous place to go.

We stumbled upon the gin shack and had a great time! We did the gin flight which came with three gins (award winning London dry gin, navy strength and Bella that was cut with Marlborough wine instead of water). All three were delicious! We would highly recommend stopping by. The staff were very friendly and even let us try the bitters for free. We would highly recommend stopping by.
