Wainoni Park is a sport facility in Greenhithe. In the winter the local soccer club Greenhithe FC hosts midget, junior and youth soccer across the three fields and in the summer various cricket clubs & Last Man Stands use the three artificial cricket pitches.
Surrounding the fields are walkways through the park, a playground and two car parking areas of reasonable size - both of which quickly fill up on Saturday morning in winter.
The park is popular for dog walkers who largely ignore the rules about keeping their pets off the fields so you'll get the occasional out of control dog. There are public toilets which can get pretty grotty from time to time and the council doesn't maintain some of the park as much as it should.

Or you could choose to walk around the sports field. Why not head off through the bush. There's a track that goes through the bush on the other side that starts between 51 - 53 Churchouse Road. A small 10 minute return, but a nice add on over a wooden walkway and steps...
