Wainoni Park North — Attraction in Upper Harbour

Wainoni Park is a sport facility in Greenhithe. In the winter the local soccer club Greenhithe FC hosts midget, junior and youth soccer across the three fields and in the summer various cricket clubs & Last Man Stands use the three artificial cricket pitches.

Surrounding the fields are walkways through the park, a playground and two car parking areas of reasonable size - both of which quickly fill up on Saturday morning in winter.

The park is popular for dog walkers who largely ignore the rules about keeping their pets off the fields so you'll get the occasional out of control dog. There are public toilets which can get pretty grotty from time to time and the council doesn't maintain some of the park as much as it should.

I always enjoy going for a walk here. There's a nice walk past the horse paddock's & you can either choose to return the same way or go around the outside on the footpaths & back into Wainoni Park vias another nice walk way on another side of the horse paddocks.

Or you could choose to walk around the sports field. Why not head off through the bush. There's a track that goes through the bush on the other side that starts between 51 - 53 Churchouse Road. A small 10 minute return, but a nice add on over a wooden walkway and steps...

Not a lot of okay ground equipment, but what they have is different and interesting. The slide is wide and fun. So many things to spin on (seats, ropes and a tower). Two baby swings and two regular swings edge the park. Kids of all ages enjoy playing in the water feature with fountains.
