Great place to visit . All of us in a group of 4 enjoyed it. So much to look at. Covered half an acre with different styles of buildings. This includes an old outside dunny. Note not in use. The old bachs have lots of Waiheke History. The custodians are all volunteers so great to donate to support what they do for free. Maori settlers definately shown as Tangata whenua.    Read moreI visited this museum a few years ago, it has really changed up, for something run via donation and finding people able willing or capable to maintain history in today's world its a struggle, it was so clean well thought out and very well placed along a main road with some awesome nicnacks to read about!    Read moreInteresting little town museum. It is more of a collection of buildings that make up the museum. Main building plus a few other buildings, each showing a specific theme or feature of life in the area during a period of time.
It is a grass and dirt walk between buildings so be careful if it is raining. It was a bit muddy when I visited. However there is some beautiful scenery nearby, so it blends in well.
