Interesting little town museum. It is more of a collection of buildings that make up the museum. Main building plus a few other buildings, each showing a specific theme or feature of life in the area during a period of time. It is a grass and dirt walk between buildings so be careful if it is raining. It was a bit muddy when I visited. However there is some beautiful scenery nearby, so it blends in well. The comments are fit for all ages, so being your kids and take a visit. Admittance is a donation (suggested at $3).

The museum was spectacular. It is made up of a few different buildings. It was raining when we where there and the path to the toilets was wet and muddy. The people IB the museum are delightful and helpful. They answered questions and talked with us. The artifacts the museum has are incredible. Everything is kept in as perfect condition as possible while still being able to let visitors enjoy it. It is a $3.00 suggested donation to enter, but we each gave a minimum of $5.00.

The Museum of Waiheke is a great place to visit to learn more about the history of Waiheke. There are many fascinating items to see from farm equipment to maritime objects as well as cottages that house entire rooms of items designed to display how people lived in different eras. It is easily accessible by bus, and there is also space for cars to park. Bathrooms are available on-site.

Great place to visit . All of us in a group of 4 enjoyed it. So much to look at. Covered half an acre with different styles of buildings. This includes an old outside dunny. Note not in use. The old bachs have lots of Waiheke History. The custodians are all volunteers so great to donate to support what they do for free. Maori settlers definately shown as Tangata whenua. Tiki with story and pa sites noted. Good in all weathers but on a very hot or wet day perfect. Overlooks the golf course. Very suitable for young or old. Hands on and great staff . We visited Sunday...

I visited this museum a few years ago, it has really changed up, for something run via donation and finding people able willing or capable to maintain history in today's world its a struggle, it was so clean well thought out and very well placed along a main road with some awesome nicnacks to read about! Most places now are centred around a very digital front and you don't get fully immersed in the layout of "what life was like" but here you do (without touching the displays of course 😉) Well done for keeping such a cool place "alive" and open for...
