Waiheke Island Brewery — Restaurant in Waiheke

Friendly welcome. Started with a flight of beer. Would not recommend. NZ$20 for a thimbleful of 4 beers is really poor value. I've had larger wine samples at wine tastings!

Ordered pizza and a burger and those were fine (nothing special but tasty). Asked for some more drinks when the food arrived but had to remind them about it, and even the reminder took an age. We had long finished eating when the drinks finally arrived.

In contrast to many of the neighbouring vineyards, staffing was not an issue here. They had maybe 10 occupied tables and 5 serving staff. I couldn't work out why everything was taking so long.

Really bad service from the second we arrived, got told to sit in a spot as if we weren't welcome to look around, waited for a decent amount of time before finally being served and when we got our tasting paddles we had no clue about anything as they got plonked on our table and that was that! Pricing seemed ok but the service made us change our minds to stay any longer...

Amazing location. Coupled with a winery with a lot of outdoor seating and activities to do. Food was excellent and the beer selection was good - both from the Waiheke brewery and other New Zealand breweries. The staff were wonderfully pleasant and polite. Very hospitable and welcoming. Definitely...
