If you're restricted on time, I would recommend giving this one a miss and focusing your effort towards other rewarding walks (e.g. Franz Josef, Fox Glacier, Lake Matheson). The walk is quite steep, mostly uphill and the pay off is just a slightly higher view of the glacier (you see just a little more of the ice) from view. In retrospect I wouldn't have done this. A lovely Bush walk gets a bit high and tight in places. Fresh water to drink running down the rocks. Good view of the glacier in the distance from the top of the track. Average fitness required and not suitable for strollers...
