This review is from the perspective of a visitor to the village, not a hotel guest.
You need to pay 100nk to enter the village. What they call the village is really a group of fishing hut-style accommodations with a historical building, small art gallery, cafe and couple restaurants. The “film” is really a series of fishing images, and they couldn’t bother to put it on full screen so you’re watching fishing images with a windows task bar. There is no sound.
The bakery right as you enter the village is free to enter and has nice pastries. The larger cafe inside the village was lovely and had a great fish soup. The views, as with most places in Lofoten, were delightful.
We were originally happy to pay the entrance thinking that this money benefited the residents of the community who have to deal with increased tourism. However, it seems like this entrance fee just goes to the resort. A little extra care, such an actual film on the history of the village, and some descriptions of the purposes of the tools in the historical building would have made this more worth while. Otherwise, it might be worth a stop if you’re in the area but I would not recommend taking the time to take a trip here and I’m glad we decided to stay somewhere else.
Note on parking, the parking lot was full and we were lucky to find the last spot on the streets but in fact it wasn’t very busy. I suspect finding parking during the busy season will be very...

In fact, former fishing and fish processing village was turned into tourist site with some open air expositions and suffers a bit from frequent drive in - drive out tourist excursions. Fisherman rorbu houses were rebuilt into tourist accommodation, general store is now more gift shop rather than center of local trade and services etc.
Despite of this, Nusfjord is still very picturesque place worth of visit, although all authenticity is gone.
Entrance fee gives visitor access to whole village including: Cod liver refinery (now with exposition of photos from the past), Harbour (sightseeing and fishing trips and boat rental services), Blacksmith's workshop, Smoke house, Red boathouse, Nordnaustet boathouse, Ice house, Saw mill Bakery
Except of these preserved buildings, cafés, restaurants, shops and souvenir shops are located in village center and are ready to serve...
Read moreVery cosy and beautiful village, definitely worth a visit when passing by. We visited in early February when it was completely snow covered. There is a large parking available right at the beginning of the village (free of charge - at least in winter). A bit hilly so you need spikes/crampons to walk around! Typical wooden fishing boats are docked at the harbor. You can walk around the harbor and go up to the rocks to have a nice view over the village as well as the ocean. Cute cafe available with...
