Before my friend and I arrived we were quite worried about the so-called «100kr fee» to enter Nusfjord that we had heard about for other reviews of this place. We arrived late at night and despite the romour just walked in like the two bosses we are into the city, no fee to pay, no nothing. The town reminded me of some town from «Pirates of the Carrabean» and I felt just like captain Jack Sparrow walking on the docks, or as they call him in Norway «Kaptein Sabeltann». We were eager to fish from the dock knowing that Nusfjord is a well known city for its fish, yet despite the rumours we figured that the locals must hve put a spell upon us, because we got no fish after 2h of fishing. All we got was seaweed and unfortinatly we also fished the dock itself. With a declining morale for the fishing we decided to drive back to the closest town (Leknes) and buy some burgers at Shell. The burger was great, but that’s for another story, or review I shall say. We descided to set up our tent some 10min drive away from Nusfjord, this was a mistake. The wind was so strong during the night I was almost worried we were going to take off with the tent and fly all the way back to Svolvær just as if we were Merry Poppins. In the morning the «fee» to enter was up! Well we did not want to pay so we just walked straight in as the bosses that we are. We went straight to the well known bakery, bought some deliscous buns with rhubarb and a coffee, 10/10 bakery and coffee, would recommend. All in all, Nusfjord is a must to visit, with its local spells, bakery, suprisingly strong winds, Pirates of the Carrabean style and its world wide known 100kr fee to...
Read moreReally disappointed by this place, that is probably the worst way to to business that I have seen in the whole Lofoten. You must pay 10 euros (100 NOK) per person to access the small village, which is not bigger or better than other villages. After seeing Å, which is kinda same size and free, Nusfjord is not that diferent or novel. Why paying that much? At least reduce the price to 2/3 euros to get some money guys, or add a fee to the parking!!! I have seen several people coming to this village and then immediately leaving after seen the entrance fee..this is creating an enormous loss of potential customers to both bakery and the restaurant! Parking is free and quite overcrowded, so be ready to turn the car is a crammed place if it is full of cars. Toilet is also free, nice and clean. If you are not interested to spend an entrance fee, just don't waste your time here in parking etc. because the village is quite small and not extremely different from...
Read moreA gorgeous little village. You have to park at the dedicated parking lot (up a small steep hill), then you can walk throughout the whole village and read some interesting facts. Be sure not to miss the viewpoint above the village (accessible from the harbor among the rorbuen, just behind the old cold liver oil factory). Some older signs mentioned tickets, but no price or ticket office anywhere. There are public toilets available, the small souvenir shop and cafe is really overpriced, but with beautiful old decor. Highly recommend to come in the evening (around 6PM), there are...
