Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra Park — Attraction in David

A pleasant surprise that a park in the middle of the city would have free-roaming iguanas as an attraction. Interesting how easy it was to lure them from the trees with some bread. They are used to being so close to people that I was able to get within touching distance. Saw a total of about eight of them under two adjacent trees. There are also supposed to be squirrels but I did not see any.

This park is considered the heart of the capital. It attracts your attention because it is right in the center of a busy commercial area with all types of stores. You can't help but go inside for a view. It falls under the category of town square park and not urban park, national park or state park.

This park has the most seating available than any park I have ever been to. That is because it underwent a renovation in 2006 that gave it the seating capacity of seven hundred seats. In case you did not know, the name of the park is dedicated to the author of the classic novel, Don Quijote...

This park is a redeeming part of David. Great spot to see iguanas and eat an ice cream or snack from a shop or stand nearby. Perfect spot for a nice date. It is a beautiful park that takes you out of the city while your there smack in the middle of it. It was difficult not to smile when I saw all the iguanas...
