Worth visiting. A big zoo and botanical garden with water activities and ancient huaca ruins. The park is unique for being located on an active archaeological area. Within this area between Lima and Callao are dozens of scattered huaca ruins. For me its one of the more convenient way to experience multiple huaca archaeological sites in just one area plus there's a zoo and gardens, unlike the other huaca sites that is a bit out of the way and located on a not so touristy places. The zoo part of the park is just okay. Interesting botanical garden..divided into three sections with a bit confusing walkway. For me what makes this place special are the ruins..mostly large earthen mounds made with adobe bricks and earth. The place could be a bit hot during noon for there are not enough shades. Lots of miscellenius things to do specially for kids. Managed to take a nap on the grass under some shade.

I love zoos and i visited all local zoos i could from the cities I've visited This zoo is like an old traditional one, has maps and signs here and there, but i would recommend to take a picture of it in case u get lost Most of the roads are fine, but there are some sandy paths. Strongly recommend to go on sport shoes You can ride a horse or a boat, take the small train, but thats only if u do wanna chill a bit The habitats are well cleaned and the animals fed, however they might want ti change some habitat's pond water The sad part about this zoo are: 1. It's missing a lot of educational signs, and the ones that do have it, only provide basics such as name, diet, and endangerment status 2. The habitats arent well organized by size, some big felines have too less space for what they actually need, while the ostrich is alone camping around 3. There are electronic signs that could be used to promote environmental education, or animal protection knowledge, or any other kind of useful and educational info, but instead they only rewind the same restaurant promotional video infinite times

Cost 15 Sols per person. I really like the design of this park. Being from the US I was impressed by what was offered and the overall design. However, I agree with other reviews that the glass for much of the enclosures was very dirty and hard to see the animals. There were quite a few animals I hadn't seen before which was a nice surprise. There were also open. Areas where animals we're not confined by a cage and just surrounded by a 2 foot moat. Almost all the animal labels have the English name on them, but not all. I thought it was odd that most of the cages had only one animal in it. For example the tiger and lion area had only one in each exhibit. Seemed rather lonely and bored. Overall it's a large park and you can spend several hours here. If you bring kids there's multiple areas for kids to play in and there were even festival zones.

On my first time in Lima my wife and I visited here and 2 years later we choice to return. Its a beautiful place with so much to see you get to relax and enjoy the whole day. The Animals and their enclosures are all well looked after with most having plenty of room ( it was a hot day and not all pools were filled enough in my opinion). Yet again the butterfly house was a complete let down and this time not a single butterfly was here, there were plenty outside tho. This is a place I'm sure I will be returning to in the future as there was alot of work being carried out I'm looking forward to seeing the next stage of this amazing zoo.

I spent a whole day in the park, it’s beautiful and huge, so make sure you have a map. Even then you’ll probably get lost a couple times😆 Lots of activities to do, especially, for kids. I enjoyed watching animals, they all seemed healthy and taken care of. There’s a beautiful botanical garden in the park too, great place to rest, it’s relatively quiet as the rest of the park gets very crowded and busy. Food was delicious and affordable, lots of stores accept visa (cause I had no cash with me at all). The only thing I didn’t like was bathrooms. No toilet paper or soap, generally gross but, at least, free.
