The place has change big time over the years. I still remember the old times when my lola (grandmother) and I used to visit the plaza every weekends after going to the church. (The plaza is adjacent to a Minor Basilica Parish of Batangas.

The plaze used to have grounds for children to play, however, not much now is available. However, it is still good for jogging and small walks, school practices and a small chill and tambay at sunset.

Has some flower stores on the sides and a coffee shop which sell local commodities from all over Batanagas/Batangas Province.

Love the Suman sa Lihiya from Mindoro. A muat everytime I...

The place is poorly maintained primarily in the cleanliness department. They should also improve the police visibility and overall security around the area as it is the center of the center of the City and criminal elements are surely widespread throughout. The gingerbread house sort of "props" looks good only in the pictures but in reality they look like mediocre makeshift cardboard displays intended to lure people into visiting and appreciating the lackluster park more but the ruse is unsuccessful, at least for me. Again, at least it looks...

Tiny park with more parked cars than people at any given time. Plants are not well maintained. Looks OK when decorated during Christmas. A few old and large trees along the perimeter with a paved open space in the middle with a monument. Annoyingly loud Zumba classes for several hours in the morning, otherwise it's mostly peaceful. No good vantage points for taking photos of the nearby cathedral. Just like Batangas City in general, it's just not well planned park and does not integrate well with its...

A place where a lot is happening all year round. In the morning you can catch a zumba, sit in peace and read a book. There are many attractions, fairs and karaoke here. At the market itself you can buy something to eat or drink and even stop by the church for a while. Public transport such as a jeepney or tricycle is available and it is important to emphasize that it is located there as a public toilet (free and clean).

Mabini Park is well maintained and spacious. It could be greener, but it provides enough shade to be a suitable place to chill as one explores the old downtown of Batangas City. At the center is a monument to Apolinario Mabini, one of the brilliant Batangueños that rose to prominence in Philippine history. There are cafés and shops in one section of the plaza and the facilities are clean.
