This is my 2nd experience in Pico de Loro. The 1st time, we were lucky enough to be sponsored by someone with a membership so we swam on the beach for members only. The experience was divine; facilities were complete and it felt luxurious as there were prepped materials to use in the bathrooms, such as lotions, soap, towels, and many more. Meanwhile, our experience this 2nd time around is vastly different. This time around, we weren't able to experience the same as we 1st did. Instead, we swam in Pico beach and the pool for non-members. First, the pool for non-members looks amazing, but I have concerns regarding the cleanliness of it. The water appeared slightly green and our skin itched when we swam in it. Maybe it was because it was evening already (nearing 10pm, wc is the closing time for the public pool) and that might be the reason for it's sad state. Second, the beach feels great, no criticisms there. However, I do have concerns about the shower stalls on the beach for non-members. They don't work as intended, instead of being used for showering, we were only able to wash our feet through them. Likewise, some of the designs on the beach (the umbrellas and the reclining seats on the sand) were damaged. Our rooms were fine though, we moved rooms once but only because there were five of us and both rooms were great. However, the building for Jacana B seems to have this incessant ringing noise that comes from an unknown source. As someone who doesn't like noise, especially constantly, this is very annoying. I hope it gets fixed. For the positives, there were lifeguards everywhere, and although the beach at that time had the purple flag raised for dangerous aquatic life forms, I felt secure and safe, oddly enough. I guess I just wanted to swim regardless of the flag, and I don't think the many beach goers with us cared at...
Read moreWe stayed in Pico Sands hotel which is very close to the cove . Hotel has shuttle bus. The check in and out process of hotel is not smooth, they are not organize, you have to wait in a long line, they dont have chairs for you to seat while waiting, not good for elders standing in a long line. I dont like the breakfast , the buffet has only few selection of food, the food is salty for me. I like the staff, the pool and the way they clean the place. We checked in late and they let us check out by 1pm instead of 11am ( standard time) . They make inventory of the towels, if you lost one you have to pay Php 1000 each. . We made sure that we count our towels before leaving the room as I dont want to pay extra. See below the other info when planning to visit the PICO de loro Beach.
Beach has many apartments and condo where you can rent under Airbnb. We stayed in Pico Sands hotel. Some apartment there that has beach access are: MYNA, FREIA, SEE, Carola and more.
Hotel has bus shuttle to bring you to and fro but it is actully walking distance. The beach has shower area but during out stay it is not working.
The beach itself- beautiful, clear , good waves - safe for the children
The hotel has own pool and the other nearby has own pool too and private access to the beach. Walk in is not advisable- you must present your booking confirmation to the first guard house before they let you in a drive inside the big property before you reach the apartment and condos.
I enjoy my vacation even only one night. The beach is...
Read moreWe arrived at a weekend so theres a typical waiting period before check in,.but the staff are accomodating and since sun's out and ablaze already they do welcome you with a small glass of lemonade. Food was good in a scale of 5 they get a 3..but maybe due to the onslaught of guests that our first lunch there wasnt good, tasted good but the meat was a bit rubbery ..even the barbecue at dinner and you had to wait for your turn in the resto understandable since you dont have anywhere to get food from ..we were around 12-14pax and we paid around10k for that lunch so it was a bit dissapointing.. but we commend the staff for the service very accomodating, courteous, friendly and helpful..there are porters so no problem with carrying your things..in order to get to the beach which is far away from the hotel your provided with vehicles a bus to and fro all the area near the beach were beautifully well maintained and well kept. No pets allowed..zumba around 4pm..beach and pool area have curfews 6am -6pm.. the rooms are clean toiletries provided..very strong wifi spot..beach area around the afternoon crowded..come.morning it was peaceful and beautiful..pool area is good too.. also theres a small Kultura shop inside..where you can buy trinkets or things you need for your stay.. alot of ammenities unfortunately our stay was short so we didnt get to use them..breakfasts are wonderful!
