Playa Laiya Beach Club — Attraction in San Juan

Here is how a two-day trip in Playa Laiya erased all the good memories I had with Landco:

I was a single visitor in Club Laiya and I was not informed there would be an ongoing construction during my visit. I was ogled and catcalled by the workers many times and the guards and staff did nothing to stop them.

On the second day of my visit, I was forced to take a shower in the women’s bath house WITH MALE WORKERS INSIDE. They refused to go out and told me to not worry because they will guard the entrance.

On both days of my visit, the restaurant closed early and no one informed me. The staff told me that the cooks just left “because no one was eating.” Given that I was the only visitor staying in Club Laiya at the time, I was so confused as to why I was not given a heads up. I had to eat from a third party restaurant outside the property. Super inconvenient.

The staff was warm and welcoming as people, but they are not attentive to their guest’s needs. Upon checking in, the receptionist was not even sure what documents she needed to get from me.

Lovely beach club for Playa Laiya members. Non-members can go in as long as they have endorsement letter from an owner and pay the entrance fee and cabana. It is a big and nice place but already showing some signs of neglect such as the power outlet in our cabana is not working properly, in the ladies shower room, some doors have broken locks. Hope the management will do something about it. But the beach area is very nice even if it is pebbly. Better wear aqua shoes especially for kids.
