The Landing Site of Rizal in Dapitan is a significant historical site in the Philippines. It was at this location where the national hero, Dr. José Rizal, disembarked on July 17, 1892, after being deported to Dapitan by the Spanish colonial authorities. This historical site commemorates Rizal's exile to Dapitan, where he spent four years before his execution in 1896. During his time in Dapitan, Rizal made significant contributions to the local community, establishing a school, practicing medicine, and conducting scientific experiments. The Landing Site of Rizal has become a place of pilgrimage and reflection for Filipinos who wish to honor the memory of their national hero. Visitors can explore the area and learn more about Rizal's history and his contribution to the fight for Philippine independence. It is a location that reflects the historical significance and lasting legacy of José Rizal, offering visitors the opportunity to connect with Filipino history and culture.

This is the area where Rizal docked before going to his place of exile. Aside from the big statue of Rizal along with guards, this place is also perfect to view the sunset. Unfortunately, we did not catch it at the time of our visit. Most of Dapitan's historical sites are for free so expect no entrance fee here. Some kids sell toys here but you can always say no and they won't bother you.

Historical site for Rizal's arrival in Dapitan. The place is nothing but a marker for the event, but it is well designed to give a very scenic experience while overlooking the bay. The sunset is the best here. Food establishments are located a few meters away. One concern though the is that visitors tend to leave their trash on the beach, which kinda ruins the vibe it tries to give.

A beautiful realization. The monument is paying a tribute to the most praised hero, José Rizal, of the Philippines who was in exile in Dapitan for four years. The inhabitants are, understandably, proud of this chapter of their history. The monument is really well place at the sea shore where José Rizal arrived. The scenery is splendid at the sunset. A must to watch in Dapitan

The disembarking point of Dr. Jose Rizal whe he first set foot at Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte to served his exile by the order of the Spanish colonial government. The cooper-colored larger-than-life statues commemorate that significant event. The place is clean and easily accessible.

The land mark commemorates Jose Rizal's exile and arrival in Dapitan. He may be unwanted by the Spaniards that time, but greatly cherished by the Dapitan people as he imparted his knowledge in medicine, engineering and in the arts. Its a good place to teach and appreciate history.
