I was in PULANG BATO FALLS MOUNTAIN RESORT yesterday with my golden retriever. When in Dumaguete, I always bring my pet here because in the past (5-6 times already), the place had always been “pet-friendly” – meaning they allowed my pet to get inside the premises and to swim in any of their pools. I also found one review of the place made 9 months ago, which says the same. I never had a problem here in the past. When I arrive, I always make it a point to bring my pet to the ticketing booth and ask the personnel there if its okay for my pet (with my furbaby standing on the ledge of the ticket window) to be there and to swim in their pools. The answer had always been a “YES” with a smile and a praise for my handsome furbaby. In the past, I also have not encountered any problem with other customers in any of the pools. In all of our visits here, people many people, usually children, played with my furbaby. We did not stay for long (just 10-15 minutes), as it not also good for dogs to be wet for a long time. Yesterday though, was different. I was told by the personnel giving out tickets that it is okay for my dog to swim in the pool. However, we are not allowed to get down into the waterfall area since there was flooding in the morning following heavy rains. We were not told that the upper/bigger pool was also closed for the same reason. So the only pool available was the one in front of the ticketing booth.

I brought my dog to the pool and let him for just a few minutes since the water was very cold. Then we went to the upper pool and found out that it was closed. So we just posed for a picture at the entrance of the hanging bridge. Then we went back to the lower pool where I had my pet swim for another few minutes. Then an elderly woman approached us and shouted that “DILI MAN ALLOWED ANG IRO SA POOL! NAAY CUSTOMER NGA NI REKLAMO!” So I answered that we were not told about that in the ticketing area. Had we been told, I would have not paid, and would have left.

My pet and I have been to many tourist areas in this very beautiful Dumaguete City. We have been to the Forest Camp as many times as we have been to the Pulang Bato Falls. In the Forest Camp, I have always been told by the security guards, ticket booth personnel, any personnel there, that “Dogs are not allowed in the pool, but are allowed to get inside the camp and allowed to swim in the river.” They have created pool-like structures in the river to allow people and dogs to swim. This is very considerate of them and I really appreciate this. I have no intention of disobeying any rules in any tourist spot. But for the rules to be followed, they have to made very clear for all guests, and for all personnel in charge, to be consistent.

My suggestion for PULANG BATO FALLS MOUNTAIN RESORT: You have a great place. And in the past, you have always been known to be pet friendly. You can always opt to designate the lower pool (the one in front) and the river area to open to pets. This way, the bigger pool at the back is reserved for people who do not like to swim with dogs. You can hang signages in the lower pool that will inform everybody (guests and personnel) that pets are allowed in this pool. And so they can decide whether they will swim in it or go the bigger pool at the back. This way, everyone is informed of your rules and decides based on consistent information. With this, your place will not only be pet-friend but also guest-friendly --- which is really the trademark of this beautiful...

Title: Nice Waterfalls and natural pools the restaurant is so so

There are 2 Waterfalls, one big and one small. In the big Waterfall you can swim. There is also a Pool, Hotel, Bar, Restaurant.

o 100 php entry fee per pax is usually too much for the waterfalls but I think you can use also the pool and showers.

o The rest rooms are ok not very clean, there are simple showers. Sinks are also there but no mirrors...

o There is a restaurant, but not very professional see below

The restaurant menus was expensive, the staff looked bored and listless We had a barbecue chicken and a filipino dish. The barbecue chicken was very dark and dry, the portion was small for the price. The filipino dish the portion was small for the price and the egg was still raw (see photos) the taste of the rest was ok. The shake was also ok but of course expensive.

Explanation of my votings

Pro Contra o Only for your information

5 Stars: It was really special, you must try it 4 Stars: It was nice, you should try it 3 Stars: Nothing special, you could try it 2 Stars: Try only if you have no alternative 1 Stars: Bad, don't bother trying

To understand... Why do I give 5 stars so rarely? Out of over 365 reviews, I realised that there are no businesses that are 100% perfect. I rate businesses in relation to an area, such as a city and the surrounding area. Most businesses in an area sell similar products of different qualities, and I rate these products up to a maximum of 4 stars. Therefore, I decided to give 5 stars if a business in this region has a unique selling point. This could be a unique product, an awesome view, or cosy surroundings that set them apart from other businesses in the area. Even if their products are not perfect, I can still give a five-star rating if there is something spec...

My girlfriend and I stayed at this property for two nights. We picked it based on reviews and location. Our experience was markedly different from other reviewers. |The falls themselves are a 5 star point of interest. However, the resort is terrible. On arrival, we found the room to be worn and dirty. But the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable so we tried to make the best of it. But things just kept getting worse. |The resort’s restaurant is nothing more than a snack bar and a bad one at that. After the first dinner there, my Filipina girlfriend opted for a 7-11 hot dog rather than another dinner at the restaurant. |Then we found that the TV and Wi-Fi didn’t work. To make matters worse, our host didn’t seem to care about these issues. We nearly left after the first night but decided to stick it out. |We returned to our room on the second day to find it flooded due to a leaky roof. We were moved to the room next door which was also dirty and worn. The TV in that room worked but only received one Filipino channel. But the air conditioner didn’t work which made for a miserable second night. Again the host didn’t care about these issues. Finally, there are safety issues as neither water heater in either room appeared to be properly installed. The ground wire probably should not be...

The journey to the cold falls is nothing short of exhilarating. Before reaching the falls, you first have to cross a narrow, swaying bridge suspended above a deep ravine, offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. The anticipation builds as you make your way across, the sound of the roaring water growing louder with each step. The bridge adds an exciting layer to the experience, making the crossing feel like an adventure all on its own. Once you reach the falls, the icy mist and the powerful crash of water greet you, and the thrill of diving into the cold, refreshing water is irresistible. The shock of the cold revitalizes every sense, waking you up to the raw beauty of nature. Surrounded by towering cliffs and lush greenery, the falls provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience. It’s not just about the dive—it’s the entire journey, from crossing the bridge to plunging into the cold, that makes this place a must-visit for those who love a mix of adventure and natural wonder. They also have a restaurant for you to dive in.

These falls were a very nice experience. The upper (smaller) waterfall is accessible really easy and well as some platform has been built to make it part a swimming pool. The bigger fall you will have to cross a suspension bridge and when you reach the water after climbing down some steps you must climb some rocks if you wish to swim. The water for both falls is a little cold but very comfortable. There are multiple huts available allowing you to stay in this place for the whole day if you'd like. There is also a bar and restaurant available. We had our lunch here which was quite ok. The prices are a bit high though. We had no celular signal (GOMO), but there is piso wifi available. What I really liked about this place is how clean it is. There is no garbage to be seen anywhere and also the pathways are dirt free. Also it was not very busy, we visited on a Friday between 11AM and 1PM.
