Visited twice in the last 2 months: One was a Monday morning so there were barely any people, another was Palm Sunday so Holy Week + being a weekend guaranteed there was a lot of people.

While labelled as a hot spring, it’s best to clarify that Red Rock is a lukewarm to warm spring at best. It’s more geared towards the minerals in the water giving you health benefits, than the comfy onsen type atmosphere you expect from soaking in hot water.

Location: The place is not that far from Dumaguete, about 20 mins to a half hour towards Valencia.

Parking: There is quite a bit of parking here, but expect it to be full if you’re visiting on a weekend or holidays.

Price: I think the price is okay for an entrance fee—it includes no consumables though so you will either have to bring your own or order in-house. I don’t know if they charge you for bringing in your own food, but the food they offer here is priced okay considering it’s a tourist spot.

Sitting area: Aside from the entrance fee, you can rent an area where your group can sit, like tables or cottage, which is an extra fee. It’s not bad especially if you’re a big group, the place is enough for you to place your bags, food, change of clothes, etc. Not overtly spacious but comfy enough.

Atmosphere: The atmosphere generally depends on when you go. If you go on a non-busy weekday (my first trip of the yr), it’s pretty quiet and calm. Not a lot of people moving around in the tight space, and you can enjoy and relax in the spring. If you happen to go on a weekend/holiday (second trip), it can be horrendous. The place was packed but we were able to get a table. We didn’t stay too long though since there were a lot of kids shouting and moving between the two springs/pools. You will not feel very rested since there are a lot of people with you in the pools, and shouting over one another.

My two trips were completely different, and it’s obvious that the number of people in the area can affect your visit.

I would recommend the place if you want to experience a warm spring, and the good effects of soaking in a mineral-filled spring. But choosing when to go can make or break your trip, unless you’re the kind of person who can tune noise out.

Also, because the area is mineral-filled, be ready to have your swimwear or clothes turn red. They aren’t strict about what you can wear, but it’s best not to wear anything too nice or pretty in case the red sulphur doesn’t come out of your clothes.

PS. The walking space around the area can be really slippery so make sure kids and seniors are always...

I’ve been to Red Rock Hot Spring so many times already, and I just keep coming back. There’s something about this place that makes it so relaxing, especially after a long and stressful week at work. The warm water is just perfect, it helps ease tired muscles and instantly makes you feel refreshed.

I usually visit in the afternoon, around 5 to 6 PM, because by that time, there aren’t as many people anymore. It’s much more peaceful, and you can really enjoy the quiet and the soothing warmth of the spring. Dipping in the hot spring during the evening is the best feeling, especially with the cool breeze around. The temperature of the water is just right—not too hot, not too cold—so you can just sit back, relax, and let go of all the stress.

The place is also well-maintained, which is another reason why I keep coming back. The surroundings are clean, and the atmosphere is very natural, with the sound of water flowing and the lush greenery around. It really feels like a hidden paradise where you can escape from the busy city life.

I can’t wait to go back again! Whether you’re looking for a place to de-stress, chill with friends, or just enjoy nature, Red Rock Hot Spring is definitely...

On February 7th, 2025, my high school batchmates and I, all seniors, visited the Red Rock Hot Spring in Valencia, Dumaguete. It was a great way to unwind and enjoy the company of friends. The Hot Spring Experience The hot spring's temperature was just right, allowing us to soak for a long time without feeling like we were being scalded. It was a truly relaxing experience, and the water's warmth eased any aches and pains we had. The hot spring has a toilet and shower room, which is convenient. However, when we visited, the light bulbs were busted, making it a bit dark and inconvenient to use. I hope they fix this soon for future visitors. There's a souvenir store where you can buy snacks and drinks. It's a good place to grab a bite after a relaxing soak in the hot spring. Despite the busted light bulbs in the restroom, we had a wonderful time at Red Rock Hot Spring. The tolerable heat of the spring and the company of my friends made it a memorable experience. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway...
