Myślęcinek is a huge open space with everything you need for a perfect family day out. There are lots of green areas, ponds, and even a beautiful botanical garden — all free to enter (just remember to pay for parking at the parking meter). Nearby you’ll also find a horse-riding school (best to check if sessions are still open to the public), and a funfair with an upside-down house, bumper cars, slides, a rodeo bull, and a rope park. Admission is paid, and attractions are charged individually, but it’s definitely worth a visit, especially with kids. In Summer, you’ll find plenty of food stalls, BBQ spots, ice cream stands, and cold drinks dotted around the park — even a man-made sandy beach for those missing a holiday vibe! There’s also a zoo (separate entry fee), which is a real highlight for families with children. Although it can get busy in Summer, the park is so spacious you never really feel crowded. Whether you want a fun day with attractions, or simply a long peaceful walk surrounded by nature, Myślęcinek is a must-see when...
Read moreA place frozen in time (to an extent) - I have very fond memories of this place from around 30 years ago, and whilst nostalgia was great, this place feels dated and even decrepit in places (old, empty and overgrown enclosures dotted around). New enclosures do have the modern feel to them with plenty of space for animals, but they are harshly juxtaposed against old and very small enclosures still housing animals. Price for a standard ticket is 20zl (08/2021) which, comparing to much larger and better organized zoos in Warsaw and Poznań that we visited on the same trip (both charging similar prices of approx 25zl), is a bit less value for money considering the vast difference in experience. Under 3s go in free. Parking is 5zl for a full day. There is however more to Myślęcinek than the Zoo alone as it is a vast green space with botanical garden, walking and cycling paths, lake and even a skiing hill. But if it's a Zoo you're after, this one may give you...
Read moreLargest city park in Poland, although some argue it is not really a city park because part of it is a forest. Everyone will find something to do here, whether you're looking for some alone time, fun with friends or a family trip. You can have a picnic, go birdwatching, take a bike ride, visit the botanical garden or dino park for the kids. There is a horseback trail, hiking trails, golf and mini-golf course, wakeboard park and oh so many other activities. Only downside is that main alleys are very crowded whenever the...
