The Brine Graduation Tower in Wieliczka is a peaceful and health-focused attraction located near the famous Wieliczka Salt Mine. Built in 2014, it stands as the largest structure of its kind in southern Poland, covering 7,500 square meters. The tower is designed with a wooden framework filled with blackthorn branches over which mineral-rich brine flows, creating a fine mist that enriches the surrounding air with beneficial minerals.
Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk around the tower or ascend the 22.5-meter observation platform via 250 steps to take in panoramic views of Wieliczka and its surroundings. The area is especially pleasant on sunny, breezy days when the mist disperses more effectively. Spending about 30 minutes here is recommended to fully experience the therapeutic benefits of the microclimate.
The tower is conveniently located within Park Kingi, making it easily accessible from Kraków by car or public transport. It’s a great addition to a day trip to the salt mine or as a standalone visit for those seeking relaxation. Admission is affordable, with tickets starting at 10 PLN per person.
While the experience is generally tranquil, visitors should be prepared for the climb to the observation deck and note that the area can become busy during weekends and holidays. Also, the mist may slightly dampen clothing, so dressing accordingly is advisable.
Overall, the Brine Graduation Tower offers a serene environment to unwind and breathe in air enriched with natural minerals, providing a refreshing break from the usual tourist activities. Unless it is invaded by school trips and crowds...
Read moreI purchased the (combined) individual tickets to the Wieliczka Salt Mine as well as the Graduation Tower on the Salt Mines website for yesterday at 6 pm. I emailed the Salt Mine staff ahead of time to make sure I’d be able to do the full tour (I was concerned since the museum says it closes at 6:30 pm however my entry time was for 6 pm so I wanted to be sure). The staff emailed me back right away saying I would get the full tour. I arrived to the property early and the staff told me that I would be able to visit Graduation Tower after my tour of the Salt Mine. However, upon finishing the guided Salt Mine tour, when I went to the Graduation Tower, the Tower was completely closed so I did not get to see it. What the staff told me was wrong. That is disappointing… The Salt Mine itself was really impressive so I am glad I got to see it. The museum provides a guide (you can’t just buy a ticket and walk around yourself). The guide was fantastic. I definitely recommend going but if you also want to see the Graduation Tower then go earlier or go see it before your official...
Read moreWierdly nice place. It might be better if the weather is warm and sunny, but I was there in -3°C and I liked it. The wood branches that are serving like a large filter are of plum trees. They are never replaced, the nice security girls at the entrance said, but there is no cristals of salt on them, despite salty brine constantly tinkling down. Another mistery! There are no guides and not much is written on the boards and it is a real pity! A lot of question why when how arise and I am going to research later. You do feel the smell of wood and salt, and I really enjoyed it! Defenetly worgh a visit, + 10pln roughly, when bought together with the ticket to the mine, it's nothing! Do climbe the tower, for the views, but also for the most wonderful feel of being inside a well made large...
