We visited Zajadalnia Wieliczka for dinner shortly before closing time and, as the last clients of the evening. The atmosphere was unpretentious and inviting, echoing the essence of a local spot that prioritizes genuine hospitality and hearty fare.

The food itself was a pleasant surprise—uncomplicated, yet deeply satisfying. There was a quiet confidence in each dish, showcasing fresh ingredients and traditional preparation without unnecessary embellishments. Be careful of the following: They automatically add a service charge, “SERWIS”, to your receipt. Make sure to check it before you pay! They do not inform you about it on the menu nor when you pay. The waitress just comes over with the card machine and states the total amount. When I pointed it out, she said, “Oh, we can take it off.” I was about to add a tip on top off the total amount if I hadn’t checked! Make sure to double check which currency you’re paying when using a card. She asked “Zloty or dollar?” And I specifically said Polish currency since the card machine merchant will charge you a crazy rate. Turns out she pressed Zloty and my lunch came out to be 20% more than the original bill…because of their intended or unintended actions- who knows.

Amazing place! We went based on the reviews found on Google, and at first it seemed nice but small. We ordered some pierogi mix and 3 pizzas. The pierogi were nice, freshly made, and with generous fillings/toppings.

But the pizzas. THE PIZZAS WERE BOMB! The crust was heavenly, crispy yet soft, the toppings the right amount ot savory, and a great deal big for the price. We thought we ordered the big, but we seem to have gotten the small ones. The big pizza is really big.

The girls that were serving us were friendly and fast, professional, and really hard working. Boss, if you see this, give them a raise, they deserve it.
