Would be a great starting point for a paddle/kayak, but someone broke into the car and I don't think it's random. We thought we would be good with 4 restaurant workers, 3 lifeguards near the parking, and the staff of the kayak rentals literally in the parking within view of the car. Seems a little strange that 14 people saw nothing and didn't hear someone hammering a screwdriver through a metal door 🧐. Worst part, the thieves were very confident. They knew they had enough time to go through every single bag and folder, so it couldn't be just one person. Literally, every bag was opened and replaced in car camping tetris style. Even the work folders inside my bag had been opened. This takes a lot of time, so at least two people are in on it. Once watching the beach for us and the other in the car. A lot of reviews here are saying it happens a lot. That many people working in such a small space would have to choose not to notice the pattern of multiple people arriving on the same days cars are broken into. Some reviews say it happened while they were on the kayak tour, but the kayak rentals leave people there watching their own boats, so again it seems strange.
It will cost us more to fix the car than they took from the car. Lucky me, I guess. No idea why they'd expect to find much in a 20yo hippie car and no idea how they still missed little bit of cash in the wallet. Or maybe they realized we're traveling like broke hippies and felt sorry for us? Or maybe just criminals lacking brain cells. No idea. Pizza was okay, but not worth spending the rest of the vacation with an easy access car unlock. Just get up early and park...
Read moreReally picturesque beach - at low tide you can explore the adjacent beach with a view of the “arc de triomphe” rock and some small caves - if you are brave - at high tide you walk round to the top to jump off the top (under guidance) there is a small parking area at the top of the stairs and along the single track road leading down. It also has a small cafe (pirate cafe) serving cold drinks and pizza (had a toilet ) which opened at 12. There is a life guard on the main beach and is also a drop off point for kayak tours. It was relaxed early morning but gets busy late morning onwards - with high tide and afternoon crowd people are more or less on top of you as it’s a small beach at high tide . The time we were there there was a load of seaweed which made water visibility poor and the adjacent beach was covered meaning no one wanted to use it . We enjoyed it until it got packed around 1 onwards . At low tide it’s better as you can explore through the small cave tunnel to the adjacent beach with a view of the arc de triomphe rock formation and there is more space on the beach . Fairly gentle incline for small...
