Praia do Barranco — Attraction in Lagoa

A lovely small beach with cliffs around and clear blue water, just amazing to relax. The earlier you arrive the less people will be there. In the afternoon more people are visiting the spot however I would not call the beach crowded. If you arrive by car I recommend not to go down until the end of the road. Park your car about 400 m before you arrive at the beach. Super deserted (December 2024) beach with focused, giant waves crashing, making it mostly a scary thing, not suitable for calm swim or even sun. Very small sandy beach area, might be ok on calm day.

Road is very washed out though, be careful with a car. Expect 300m walk to the water edge. Trees and rock on both sides, not too much to see. The star of the show is the waves, narrowing into the gap and bashing the rocks.

Very chilled beach about two hours' sailing from Albufeira marina. We went on the 'pirate cruise' spent three hours or so having a barbie which was included, then sailed back to Albufeira.

We were there at the hottest part of the day and there's no natural shade, so take a parasol if you go as it gets roastingly hot on...
