Good place to visit.
In the of the old town, and about 183 meters high, the place we know as Moura Castle, had human occupation since the 4th century BC. Moura's territories have been occupied by humans since the Iron age. The first castle was built during the Muslim period. It was several times taken by different forces until 1232. After that (13-14 centuries) the castle was rebuilt and the new elements/ towers were added.
The internal territory was used by different fabrics, but the most known is Castelo. Thanks to the unique structure of the natural underground channels the fountain of water supplied the castle (even the tower (!), where a small aqueduct was built (currently ruined).
