If you're looking for a place to escape and experience the power of nature, Praia do Norte in Nazaré, Portugal is the perfect destination. I had the pleasure of revisiting last Sunday and was blown away by the incredible waves crashing onto the shore.

The sound alone was enough to make me feel small and powerless in the face of such immense power. Made me wonder…💭

Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or simply looking for a place to unwind after a long day of work, Praia do Norte won't disappoint. And if you happen to visit on a Sunday, expect to find a few more people than usual.

Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Praia do Norte for anyone who wants to witness the beauty and force of the ocean firsthand. It's a truly unforgettable experience that will leave you in awe of the natural world. Perfect spot for over-thinkers...

When there are big waves, I prefer to go down to the beach since it is less crowded with visitors. On top of that, here the true size of the waves is more fathomable. Currently, there is no safe path down to the beach from the fortress. I saw most people climb down via the rock formation on the southernmost point of the beach, but this is only possible when it is low tide. Otherwise there are some unofficial paths further up the road, or you have to walk/drive all...
