Algés Beach – Only If You're Desperate
Algés Beach is my go-to spot when I don’t have time to drive over to Caparica. It’s conveniently located next to the Mexican restaurant La Siesta, which at least gives you the option of grabbing a decent meal before or after your visit.
That said, the beach itself is far from appealing. It's generally poorly maintained, often dirty, and simply not a pretty sight. The surroundings attract a rather rough and noisy crowd, which doesn’t help the atmosphere.
On top of that, parking is a nightmare. Free spaces are almost impossible to find, and to make matters worse, the area has recently become part of EMEL’s red zone – so expect to pay for the privilege of parking in a run-down area.
Bottom line: go only if you're desperate for some sea air and have no time to head...

One of the nicest, cleanest, calm, photogenic and beautiful beaches in Lisbon. It is just 5 minutes walk from Alges train station. There is a very nice mexican fine dine restaurant at the beach.
