Highly recommend this indoor daily (except Sunday) market for fresh produce of all kinds. Absolutely great selection. Go daily and pick up inspiration and ingredients for that night’s dinner. There is also a fish market (closed Mondays) and a butcher as well as flowers and baked goods. During my recent visit to Tavira, I popped into the local indoor municipal market, and every large Portuguese town has a council run food market. The market is a short walk 🚶‍♂️ from Tavira train 🚆 station. There are cafes outside and public toilets 🚻 too. There is a good selection of fresh vegetables and seafood and butchers too. If you like fresh fish 🐟 you'll love this market. There was a nice breeze blowing through the market when I was there. It's definitely worth a visit...

By definition, this market is wonderful and it worths a visit. Fresh fish, fruit and local produces. The palet of colours and smells is very rich. I love these local market concepts.

It's a real pity that some sellers take advantage of tourists and inflate the price too too much, especially the spice store at the NW entrance. I expected, at least, more honesty there. Well, no more tears, got to learn somehow but, I'm never gonna buy there again.
