The most charming and welcoming place! We chose this restaurant due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews and weren’t disappointed. The restaurant itself without the terrace is rather small which we believe adds to the feeling of simply being inside the small house of a lovely Portuguese married couple who cooks honest home made food in a family atmosphere. We liked the fact that the owners are actually on the front lines serving and cooking. It’s something you notice and appreciate. The food is fresh, well priced, varied (despite small choice - but more choice doesn’t always mean better food, sometimes less is more) and first and foremost authentic and tasty. Everything we ordered was good and liked by either both of us or very much by my husband who sometimes has a very different taste to mine. Read moreFrom the outside, this restaurant is unassuming and easy to miss. However, anyone who goes inside is in for a delicious feast. If you’re looking for fresh, delicious, and home cooked food then look no further! Paula is usually open for lunch till about 5pm, and opens for dinner on friday and saturday. We had dinner on a saturday and had the daily special- pork shin with rice and fries and pork belly with the same. It was all divine! Even the fries were remarkable. The homemade deserts are all worth a try. We also enjoyed the fresh clams for an appetizer. It was all so good I had to come back for a snack! I had some tasty soft cheese and portuguese sausages with some bread- simple, fresh, and just the thing for a healthy lunch-especially with a glass of fresh orange juice. The owners are very kind and friendly, and the restaurant is nice and clean. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone...

Got to experience several new-to-us portuguese dishes. Moelas (chicken gizzards), a pork and bean stew, a cod stew, and a drunk pear as dessert. All of these tasted amazing.
Very nice service. The owner/waiter explained from which regions in Portugal the dishes are from, and by whom/how they are prepared.
Postcards from all over the world from past visitors are hanging on a wall inside the restaurant.
We felt very welcome. Would definitely...
