This is a must see in Deva regardless of your interests I'm sure it holds something relevant for you

The name is a bit of a misnomer, it really is a county museum with a bit of everything, indeed most of the exhibits are related to Dacian and Roman culture, but there is also a natural history segment, quite a bit of art on display, several temporary exhibitions

Curation could be improved on some segments, but for the 4 euro price of admission you will definitely get your money's worth and even more so if you like archeology. Most of the exhibition has English translation and the location in this old palace adds a different vibe to the visit

I found the personnel quite non intrusive but helpful when needed, really felt like I had the whole place for myself and you can take as many pictures you like

Spent close to three hours exploring it, this isn't a small museum as others have said here, but given that not everything is translated foreigners might only take maybe an hour and a half if they...

The museum unfortunately targets only Romanian people. I went there as a Hungarian with American guests and some rooms have no English explanation or signs whatsoever. There are many Hungarian historic figures who contributed significantly to the establishment of the historical building and museum itself, yet there are no Hungarian informations available at all. I will change to 5 stars, if they would invest in multi-lingual signs, so I can bring other friends and guests with me the next time, because it can truly be a meaningful experience! No hate, really loved it, but only because I speak and understand...
