Mushroom Hill — Attraction in Oradea Metropolitan Area

If you're visiting Oradea and you want to see the city from above, Ciuperca is the right place. Make sure you bring (and take back with you) a bottle of water, especially in the summer, as you won't find a shop to buy some and the hill is quite steep, lots of stairs and steps. So you'll need to stay hydrated. The hill has been under construction a few times and it looks a lot better than before, much cleaner too. The vegetation (trees, bushes, vines) is quite new so there aren't many spots with shade to take cover from the sun. Great place to see the city and the valley from up high. Really great find, and a must do. While you can drive up there, I'd recommend, if you're in reasonably fair shape, walking. It's a mile from the city center and it's a pleasant (though steep) walk up a quiet street with beautiful houses. There's a restaurant at the top and very beautiful views on a good day.
