The Știrbey Castle — Attraction in Sinaia

Nothing beats living in a castle :) Easy access to center (for me blvd Carol I, hotel Anda as orientation). Rooms clean, no AC and maybe a bit more space to store toiletries in the bathrooms would be nice. Comfy beds, more than enough space for clothing. Excellent service, helpful and present even outside working hours, we arrived late and they guided us by phone into the castle and our room. Upstairs in the lobby (last floor) there are couches and coffee machine:) if you come with friends it could be a nice place to hang out. The castle has a terrace where they sell coffee. Nice place to visit. Nice accomodations even though kind of pricy for what they have to offer. Suitable if you're going with a larger group of people as there is a common living room/kitchen for all apartments. Otherwise, if you have the bad luck of having families with children or noisy groups as neighbours the noise from the common living room might be a bit annoying. There is no hair dryer in the room, but if you ask at reception they will be nice enough to borrow you one. They have a free parking lot but on bad weather the snow is not removed and you cannot use it, having to park in the payed covered parking place...

Aici este Muzeul Orasului Sinaia. Consider ca asa ar trebui sa fie pagina Google, nu Castelul Stirbey. Este drept ca a apartinut familiei Stirbey, insa in clădire, tematica nu este despre Stirbey ci despre Sinaia, fiind adunate si obiecte donate de sinaieni.

Poate ca era mai potrivita o alta cladire pentru Muzeul Sinaia, mult mai spatioasa si compartimentata corespunzător. Aici parca totul este înghesuit, prin natura arhitecturii. Iar acest ,,castel" sa se centreze doar pe istoria familiei Stirbey si pe componenta de cazare pe care o are deja. E ciudat sa fii cazat intr-un loc unde este si in muzeu.

Nici macar nu este castel, este o vila. Asadar sa nu se creeze așteptări, cu atat mai mult cu cat avem Castelul Peles, Castelul Pelisor sau Castelul Cantacuzino, in zona.

Per total, aveti ce vedea, este interesant, fiecare sala are o alta tematica ce se leaga de Sinaia, salonul aristocratic, sala oraselor infratite, sala Muntilor Bucegi, flora din Bucegi, sporturi in Bucegi, sala Stirbey, sala Personalităților, sala Stancilor Franz Josef, sala Cercetasilor etc. Am vazut chiar si actul de nastere al regelui Mihai.

In incinta este si o cafenea cu terasa unde puteti bea o cafea delicioasa.

Se ajunge usor din fata Hotelului New Montana, pe strada Aosta in sus, trecand pe langa restaurantul Snow si imediat dreapta unde veti vedea o parcare acoperita, cu plata, parcare care apartine telecabinei (aveti si telecabina spre cota 1400 si cota 2000).

Cand vizitati Cazinoul Sinaia, veti fi întrebați daca doriti bilet comun cu Muzeul Sinaia. Asa afla multi despre muzeu, pentru că, din pacate, nu prea este promovat. Luati bilet comun pentru ca este mai avantajos, este 30 lei adult. Separat cazino 20 lei, muzeu 20 lei. Puteti cumpara si bilet online de pe siteul castelului.

Este PET-FRIENDLY, pentru căței educati, in brate sau in geanta. Un lucru...
