There's even data that there were fortified positions at this place from the 14th century. The Royal Court of Târgoviște is full of fascinating medieval charm, with well-preserved ruins, the iconic Chindia Tower, and a peaceful atmosphere that transports you back in time. Even though the star of the historical site is the Chindiei Tower, all of the buildings inside the museum are fascinating, especially the old church near the tower. The visitors can climb up the old staircase all the was to the roof. At each level of the tower there are a few images with text about the old rulers which marked the story of the tower (of course, Vlad the Impaler is featured a lot, but with interesting and accurate information).
